Something had to have flushed out of that converter. Didn't do anything else to this trans. I'm SC will say tough shit. The bad thing is that now I have to either get a new converter or roll the dice that this one doesn't have crap in it.

You're assuming a lot without a tear down. How good is this guy that built the trans?

Absolutely don't put that converter back in.

I needed a higher stall converter for my charger setup. It would couple up at 2k and was hard to light the charger at the line.

He has built several for me and no issues and his was holding around 1500 horse and mine was all the same parts. It ran and shifted fine that morning and then went to shit as soon as I swapped the converter

I just can't believe that the trans took a shit at the exact time I swapped the converter out for anything other then the converter having something to do with it. I've been a mechanic for close to 20 years..... This issue is related to the converter I have no doubt.

You haven't been a trans man for 20 years. The trans YOU built a few years ago lasted longer than this one.

Agreed mike. Agreed. Can I buy you a plane ticket and some whisky.... I'm by no means arguing or telling anyone I know more then any one on here but damn what are the chances.

His actually holds but not forever but whose Allison does with Nos and huge twins. So maybe the question I should be asking is what Will hold a 1200 hp do I take the step and do a 4r100 or 48 swap?

Yeah. The reason I say 1200 is that's all I want. His has held up to a lot more. 1500-1600 and maybe more.

Without sounding like a dick Ive seen what a 1500+ does in a crew cab and his is no where near that. Dyno numbers mean nothing. We can run 10.0 and 9's almost effortlessly at this point with Mike Graves truck and the Trans last's just fine.

Alright mines no where near that and had no shifting issues and on one 30-49 mph roll down the road right after I swap a converter the trans went to shit?
