Cognito uca cv angles

Just bought some 305/55r20 toyo at2s. Havent installed them yet but I'm assuming they will rub as my 285s don't have much extra room. I want to install Cognito UCAs along with fox shocks so the tbars aren't cranked as high. Curious to know what the cv angles will be like with the bars let all the way down. Like the height daily but the truck does pull and runs at the strip. Don't want to install and be stuck with bad cv angles and ruin the truck for the track. Anyone have some input???

Uh adding the cognito arms and fox shocks will have no affect on you being able to relax the bars a bit. The purpose behind them is for cranked t+bar trucks to gain a smoother ride and a stronger ball joint. They do nothing by them selves as for adding or taking away height so they should give you no issues in lowering the truck for racing, then crankin back up for ddin

That's what I thought but someone had told me otherwise. I'm assuming that this would also hold true for front end geometry? Shouldn't change anymore than it does when lowering now.

Toe will change as well as camber when ever you adjust your height. Cognito arms dont help any of that.

Maybe I'll get a straight centerlink and tierods to keep it in check on 4wd launches. Hate to compromise turning radius though

I just figured as toe would already be increased the straight link and tierods would keep it from worsening but that's why I asked. I am by no means a suspension expert. Ideally I'd like a Cognito 4 inch but i have more plans for the motor before I get into that.

Well as suspension raises, your front end will naturally toe in due to its design. Where the other toe in comes from is due to the poor centerlink design that put an upward leverage on the idler/pitman arm when you launch in 4wd, as the parts wear, toe in becomes worse. While the straight centerlink fixes this, you gain more bumpsteer, less turning radius, and tire scrub.

Really, our front end design in its mechanics sucks. Its like the engineers did that part last and just threw it together. We can bandaid it pretty well but nothing truely fixes it

That's more or less what my understanding of the situation was. I guess I just need to decide if giving up the turning radius is worth the benefits. I think I will have to do the UCAs and shocks because I can't stand the ride with the bars turned up like they are now. I suppose I can start with them and solve any other problems as they arise. Thanks man.

No prob. Personaly, if you want to strengthen that front end cheap, straight centerlink is hard to beat. Some people dont mind the affects it causes and you may never notice it. I did and it just didnt work. I wish exaxt was still doin kits. That shit rocks

Might have to look into that. I guess last time at the track even with sleeves, braces and smaller tires the truck still launched pigeon toed.

Straight centerlinks that accept an OE style inner tie rod absolutely suck for street use. If all you do is drive straight and never turn they are mint :thumb:

Dmaxstore make Kryptonite centerlinks and it doesn't affect turning radius

The complete dmaxstore kryptonite setup is pretty badass. The centerlink and tie rods are truly massive. I run them on both of my trucks. it will still affect turning radius some and has a little tire scrub on very tight turns but it's not even comparable to how bad a normal straight centerlink is.

I am thinking the full kryptonite package might have to happen. I don't want to break anything but I can't imagine not being able to make the swing into the Dunkin drive through lol

I have: Kryptonite centerlink and tierods, Moog pitman/idler arms, Dmaxstore idler & brace, Cognito UCAs and steering braces, Swaybars and HD end links, everything I know to do to an IFS front end and it all steers like stock without rubbing and rides great

Have you looked into the All Season centerlink bracket?

No haven't checked them out. Definitely will before I make any final decision. I'm curious to know how that works compared to a kryptonite or Superdiesel on the middle setting
