Depends on what lift u buy. Many 4in lifts can be found for 12-1400 with shocks. Never rode in a truck that had ucas that i thought rode good. And this is 4-5 different trucks. Waste of money. Dont do it. Lmao

I know youre right on this. I just need to save money for the motor and am trying to talk myself out of it lol. I'm also trying to save for a garage. UCAs just seemed like the most budget friendly option.

i know you've been preached to many times over on goin with a lift trojan

I think you will enjoy either shock just as much. personally, i had higher expectations of getting more than 30k out of my bilsteins before the valving was flat gone. Levi has ran bilsteins on damn near all his trucks and hes not a slow goer when it comes to goin off road. they work well and i know of others who have gotten many more miles out of their shocks than i. the big plus about the fox shocks is the better shock fluid you get and the resivoir to help keep the oil cooler longer so shock fade doesnt not come on as fast.

I wish I was like all my buddies that drive late model imports for fuel mileage and could give 2 shits about cars lol. I would have so much more money.

going with UCA is not the end of the world. hes atleast doin it all correctly for a leveled front end. yes a lift is a better option but doesnt mean everyone MUST run one.

I just wanna take my truck off some pretty sweet jumps. :roflmao: I really just want to clear 33s with minimal rub but don't really want the truck lifted. If I had another vehicle I might consider lifting this and if I didn't have some big motor plans for the winter I'd consider lifting it. But the goal is to go low 12's and maybe even high 11's by the end of next year and I'd rather spend money on that stuff for now. Maybe I will do the cognito 4-6 along with my next set of tires and I'll step them up to a 35. But for now I am just looking for a little better ride leveled.

I have a super diesel centerlink and i drive with my bolts both all the way out and almost all the way in, depending which setup i am in. On my truck, turning radius was not noticeably affected. Tire scrub happens, but because i expect to go through tires with a high hp truck, it hasn't bothered me, nor has it worn the tires badly enough to be concerned

Same boat here. PPE Centerlink with all the other mods in sig. Not much difference in turning radius if at all. Tire scrub will happen on full crank a little. Havent notice any ill affects on the tires. I can launch the truck @ 20lbs with the cv angles level and it just digs!:D

What the hell did you just write?? Then I would just have rear air bags. Not sure how that would help the front clear 33/12.50s.
And how can I put bags in and leave the rear alone. Thats a contradiction.

I was following the thread, and posted in regard to the 4-6" cognito lift, running it turned down as arneson and jacobdewey had suggested a fantastic idea. When I said leave the rear alone, I was suggesting using no rear lift at all, and using only a set of helper bags to keep you level when loaded.
Sorry for being so cryptic, I didn't realize that was so hard to follow:rofl:

That would ride like garbage. Even turned down all the way in the front the rear would be a bit too low and you'd need so much air in the bags to level it the ride would be terrible.

Really? That seems pretty dogmatic
I don't think you have a clue as to what you're talking about. Especially cuz you don't even have a level lift or any lift for that matter.
Cuz with my level lift, I'm still an inch low in the front with It almost completely cranked up(2 1/2", my truck had a 3 /1/4" rake when i got it) I could possibly get that inch but the ride would be crap, it's only slightly better than crap now
With a four inch lift running relaxed and no air in the bags I am going to bet it sits perfectly level, when I haul stuff I can keep it level and comfy with some air in the bags, that is their intended use afterall

I guess I will know fer sure in about a week, my cognito 4" kit will be here Monday and it's getting installed next Wednesday.

Oh I will, without a doubt i will:postwhore:
:roflmao:
This cant happen fast enough, my tires are too big to lower the front and are getting beat up from leveling the front end, I've wanted to do this for 6 years, my last truck i was setting up just like this one, only it was a gasser with a D1sc procharger, it sucked towing and got beat by a diesel dodge like it was nothing, so i sold the bitch and 2 years later here i am, re-building a/my "dream truck". This cognito 4" lift w/uca's and all the little goodies has been in my mind for what seems like... well, forever. Now that's it's in the mail and on the way the days are just getting longer! Lol.

I'm not positive it will work to not add any block to the rear, I'd just rather not and am hoping i don't have to. The rear end was almost 3 1/2" taller than the front so it might work, if i have to use a 1" or 2" block it won't be the end of the world, just have to have some made to work with the air bags.

You guys will see it the day it gets installed.

Hey hot cocoal,
I kno this post is a couple months old but how did your truck turn out? Hows the front height compared to the rear? Did you have to use blocks? I to have the same problem with the rear sitting a lot higher then the front and Ive also wanted to do this same setup. How did it turn out? Im curious. Give us some pictures! Thanks man!:beer

just got the c/v driveline ordered, gonna get an ssbc big bite brake package and, probably custom leafs. Then I will install the lift.

I got a 3" drop shackle for the rear and have been running "leveled by lowering" for a coupl weeks now, i like it alright, and for the most part, am over it. I burned thru a set of tires and got that outa my system too, it is no doubt fun as hell, but I still have a vision of my origional quest to have a truly all terrain beast, besides have any of you tried to take a lowered truck up a logging road? It's a bad idea....

After playing aroud with the front suspension, I think cognito has it pretty dialed by suggesting a two inch rear height increase, it should yeild the best ride and maintian a slight rake with the front set at 4- 5". I wasnt fond of running on the street with my torsion bars all the way down, glad I tried it first.:D

So the complete lift will have a rear lift solution as well. Probably wind up with 5 in front and 3 in the rear on 35's, I've wanted it for years, I have already come to terms with getting my handicapped daughter in the back, it's now or never, cuz she's not getting any smaller:thumb:

I have cognito uca's on my lowered truck and the cv's are a hair negative. Ride is pretty nice. I think I just need alittle tension on the torsion keys. Feels alittle loose on the front end without the bolts in.
