James are you still going to get a 2020 or has this changed things a bit?

Yes and no. Just depends on how the business does this year and how far I want to go with this build. May still be on track for beginning of next year, may be later in 2020. Either way, a new truck is coming. The limos engine build I’ve wanted to do is just coming sooner than later

Found a LMM block ill be looking at tomorrow. should just need a bore but ill see. im still ahead on cost getting a block machined for what ill be picking this up for compared to buying a new ready to go LML block. Also will be getting a set of Jons pistons coming for a .020 after i have the block checked to make sure it only needs a .020 to clean up. bearings and seals will get ordered when i hear back from my buddy.

just undecided on this damn crank. i think at this point im going to have mine magged, if its good, im keeping it. If its not, callies ultra billet narrowed crank it is. Shes going to get retired to play duty only, gotta put a stop to the spending somewhere so i can get my damn new truck!

yup. Im fairly certain Erin has a real close idea what i have into the truck. i told her a few years ago my total cost in it and she about fell over :roflmao:. Ive tacked quite a bit on since then. specially after this new build.

I am going to put a L5P oil cooler on. was going to wait for the new 2020 but no way will that be out and ready by time im ready to drop the engine in. if its though, ill order one. going to be atleast better than my current 220k one :D

Bunch of goodies ordered.

Ditching my old 220k oil pump for a new melling pump
L5P oil cooler on the way, even if it doesnt help cooling that much, less risk of the cooler splitting in my old one
Clevite H bearings for mains and rods again
ARP main studs again (since the LBZ is different, i cant reuse my old ones)
going to make my new lb7 water pump work on the LBZ block, damn thing only has 500 miles on it, maybe even less than that
and a bunch of gasket, seals and o-rings for the bottom end.

boy this shit is happening way faster than the first time i built it :roflmao::roflmao:

Man, hate to see your engine go out this way, after all the blood/sweat/beers you’ve put into it.

Looking forward to watching the new built bottom end come together tho!

For sure but I’m over it at this point. No use crying over it. Just gunna build it better.

Picked up the block. For an engine that lost a piston, it’s one of the best I’ve seen! It will probably hone out but p to w clearance won’t be tight so .020 it is. Barely catches a fingernail

Jon’s pistons have been ordered. 16.5:1 compression, nothing cut off the top, no valve reliefs and I’ll have him balance them while he’s got them.

After decking the block, that should put me in the .080-.010 protrusion range. Will give me some options on HG thickness but I’ll probably go A’s again, maybe B. See what protrusion actually hits

Also waiting on a reply back from Mr Rick at profab for some tow flow up pipes to be ordered.
