I had some pro comp mx-6 on a 1/2 ton a while back, they were adjustable, sorta
thought they were crap
as for the best responding "fixed"shock,
Fox 2.0 emulsion up front and 2.0 resi's in the back
That set up was my all time favorite
I would love to try some q1a's someday
The cognito spec'd bilstiens are cool, way way better than stock and the proper length
they are considerably lesser of a shock in comparison to the fox shocks

if your track is really close to you, shouldnt be an issue but if you have to drive more than 5 miles, i wouldnt lower your truck first. toe change is drastic on our trucks even from stock height to fully lowered with stock keys. you will tear the inner edges of your tires up if you drive that way too long. if you mark where your bolts go when you had it aligned before you lowered it and cranked them back to that spot, you should be right back to how you were before without issue unless something bent from the track :D

I have a straight centerlink, and it was scrubbing the outsides of the tires bad, so when I lowered my t bars and it changed the camber, it actually helped alot with the scrub from the centerlink, and when i launch i get a better contact patch when my front rises, because of my negative camber. Just a fyi. My centerlink did more for my launches than anything else I have done. Now I just need to get back to the track with my big tune and let her eat!

uuhh ok? lowering your torsion bars by themselves will NOT fix the scrub issue. what you though helped isnt so, its the fact your tires are toed out more now and the negitive camber.

It didn't fix it, but it's not as bad as it was. Whatever it did when I lowered them all the way helped. I guess i'm not a suspension expert like you.

Whatever floats your boat hoss.

When in four wheel drive, the front tires help "pull" the vehicle, resulting in forward movement of the suspension arms against their bushings. Most front-wheel drive vehicles use negative toe to compensate for suspension movement. When I lower the t-bars, this in turn changes where the tire is wearing from the scrub.

Whenever camber changes, it directly affects toe. I also have negative camber from lowering the t-bars, which in turn does the same thing as the toe in and moves my contact patch on my tire.

When a duramax launches in 4wd you get positve toe, (and some camber to a certian degree, depending on your original alignment "area" in the suspension.) not only from the suspension rising, but also from the forces of the tire "pulling" forward. Having slight negative camber and toe will result in a better launch when you do get into that "area" where your suspension was when it was originally aligned.

The way it helped my scrub was it made it so my tires were at a different angle, that was better for a more even tire wear. BTW.... I never said it "fixed" my scrub. I said it HELPED. My boat is now floating "hoss". Just because I don't have 4000+ posts doesn't mean I was born last night.

um.. you know he is talking about something different right? james was saying he didnt reccomend driving to the track with your bars all the down from a lifted height because the tire wear from the tow change would tear up your tires, he never said towout on the track was bad?

I went from stock height to fully lowered, and never got it aligned. It's been like that for 7k miles and I have even tire wear, because of my straight centerlink causing wear on the outside of the tire when turning, and the negative toe and camber wearing the inside of the tire straight tracking. Without the negatives I would wear the outsides of the tires out, even with my alignment being perfect. I got away with it because of the straight centerlink. That was my point in my op.

thanks for reitterating points that have been said in many other threads. Again, dunno what your gettin after but i guess you dont like me stating the facts. Dunno why you got this attitude, you obviously took my first quote to you the wrong way.

Oh and adding negitive camber adds more toe out, not toe in ;)

Cool so you just agreed with me in the fact your eating your tires cause you dont wanna fix your toe/negitive camber.

What and why are you trying to argue with me?

That's because you came across like an ass. ummm..ok.

I never said anything about toe in. Positive toe is when he wheels are steering inward, and negative is out. Hence, in all my previous posts, NEGATIVE TOE AND CAMBER.

"Whatever blows your skirt up." I remember you were the one with the original smart comments. I was just stating what worked for me and personal experieces, and using your post to expound on. I wasn't looking for a reply from you in the first place.

Sorry to the OP for all the B.S. I'm done talking with this fencepost. It's going nowhere.

You quoted me, you made your comment at me. Having your "negative toe" helped your scrub amd hurt your tire wear. Plain amd simple. Not everyone wants to run around like you killin their tires faster than they need. Sorry you take text the wrong way, guess i meed to walk on egg shells around you . I wasnt lookin for a response from you either "i was expanding on your comment".
