There have been more than a few people who have ran all three , and shops that have dyno'd back to back ( not me on the dyno part but i have tested all 3 ) but most save that info for the people that call them to buy a turbo , its expensive to do testing and the last thing you want is to do all the testing and loose the sale to another company that never tested any of them but is 5% cheaper . :poop:

Very true!

if you want to use my dyno stand to do some turbo testing with your motor you're more then welcome to. we kept the stock truck side bale connectors so it will plug right up to any engine harness. or hell maybe u can just use my holset after i blow my motor up next week, haha

thanks for the offer, but i have been able to do that for the last couple years. at this point i have to put money into a turbo and not an engine dyno as those arent cheap, and since i am debaing on the cheaper end of the turbos, i think it shows that i am not able to buy and try different turbos

understood, and figured as much. i personally am not trying to get the same turbo from different shops, but trying to figure out whos turbo/shop to go with. i can talk to 5 different shops and get 5 different answers and 5 different opinions on what to do with my truck. just a small pickle.

Honestly for a pulling charger the best bang for the buck is a S400 with billet wheel , standard cover, and clipped to your class size and go with as large of an exducer as you are willing to live with spooling , to do a whole lot better ( in terms of putting 10ft on another truck ) you have to double your budget , if budget isnt a concern Precision will always be top of the pack results but you will pay for it .

X2, and I even posted months ago this infomation that you are looking for. The turbo is only a small piece of the puzzle but an important one. To me it is not worth the high dollar prices of some of the turbos on the market. I am a big believer in the Batmowheel turbos and that is why it is the only turbos I build from. My customer's are continually winning points championships with them and that is good enough for me.

Thats the biggest thing. Everybody has different results on the dyno, track, ect ect. I know it sucks, but it seems you just have to try different turbos to see what works with your set up. I pull with a cummins guy, that went from a cast s400 to a batmo, and couldnt stay on top of it for nothing at the end, while others seem to have great luck with them. I spent big bucks on a precision, and it paid off considering my ppl winnings paid for it. I also had a lot of good input from people who have been around a lot of precision turbos like Josh from Smokin diesel, that helped a ton on what size to get. But the way i look at it, is i spent more in 2010 trying several different turbos, some worked ok, some were turds, i just paid for one good one last year and it seemed to work good, but i think i had a good combo, we'll see if my changes work this year, some people say i just got lucky cause i didnt spend time on the dyno and just threw my junk together in a back yard. You can do that when you pull in a class that has no technology like the 2.6 class.:spit:

Dustin @ Diesel Addiction has installed multiple batmowheels recently and can provide you with those results. Some of them include an s366 batmo on LMM & LB7, s475 batmo on LLY, stock turbo LLY batmos. Hell my friend just had his stock charger LLY wheel replaced last week from Dustin. He loves it. I've ridden in the LMM. Also has 100% injectors and lvl 3 pump. That s366 batmo is nastyyyyy!

I've contemplated replacing my cast wheel to a batmo in the gt4088r. Just hate having to pull the charger again. Once was enough for me. I don't know how some of you guys have the patience to swap turbos out like underwear....

A few months ago at Schieds I was talking with the Borg Warner guys and asked them about the batmowheel and the consensus was that it was a waste of money. They said if there was room for that much improvement then why wouldn't they make it themselves. Plus at $400 or so a piece, you can get your average enthusiast to pick one of these up and will convince themselves that there was an improvement. Let alone most won't do back to back dyno comparisons in identical situations with no bias towards one conclusion or another.

I'm not saying but I'm just saying.....

True......

Dustin did back to back dyno comparisons. Results were good.

I'm liking my stocker replacement Batt wheel but i cant be of help to this cuz i switched to my own tuning and put 40% nozzle and a wicked reg all at the same time. Like Caleb @ Blackout said to me, anything could be better than the stock wheel in these stock turbos. If it holds up after the swap is yet to be found!

Last March: http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=413687

Rudy's Diesel Performance in Durham, NC had a dyno day today with Dunbar's dyno on hand for the competition. A stock turbo, single CP3 LLY did 604 rwhp and 1108 ft lbs of torque on fuel only on Dunbar's rollers. The truck backed it up with a 598 rwhp pull and a 599 rwhp pull, all uncorrected. I'll load the video and dyno sheet soon.

This customer agreed to do some back to back testing on the drop in BatMoWheel before we swap in a built motor. Since he has a boost and drive pressure gauge and fuel was not going to be a limiting factor I figured it would be the perfect truck to get some solid before and after numbers from.

Took the truck back to a local dyno Friday to verify last year's results and get numbers on this dyno before swapping a BatMoWheel into the stock turbo.

Just as it sat last March it dynoed 601, 604, and 607 in the morning, then we took it to the shop to swap the compressor wheel, then dialed it in on the street, then took it back to the dyno. On the street it needed a little more fuel in the tuning to get it back to the same light haze it had before the wheel. We also played with vane position at high RPM (3400+) to relieve some drive pressure through the end of the 1/4 mile. When we finished dialing it in we loaded the tuning from the morning back in so that we could see what only changing the wheel did.

With the BatMoWheel it dyno'd 636 with no tuning changes, it put more horse power and torque under the curve through the whole RPM range. Where power on the stock turbo had plateaued and started to fall off before 3600 RPM, the BatMoWheel pulled harder through the whole pull. At 3400 RPM it gained about 40hp and 70 ft lbs of torque IIRC.

The tuning with the additional fuel and less vane position didn't help the power. It seemed that with less load on the truck with it on the dyno compared to on the street, the additional fuel that was obviously needed and helpful on the street didn't come across as more power on the dyno. This is why I don't do tuning on the dyno, but instead on the street and then fine tune it on the track - where the truck is being operated under real world conditions and the actual load of the truck. We'll finish dialing it in at Rudy's event next March.

We have swapped a stock motor LBZ from a cast 475 that he ran for over a year to a Bat 475 and he loved the improved spool-up and harder pull.

I have installed a Bat 475 on a stock LBZ with heavy 18" rims and 33x12.5 tires one week; then installed a billet 475 on LWatson's identically modified LBZ except stock rims with 265 tires and can tell you that while the truck with bigger/heavier tires should have felt slower it spooled a slight bit better and pulled a little harder in the top end.

I have personally run cast S475s and have tuned trucks with cast, billet, Bat, and Double Bat 475s. One of my employees has a double bat 475 on his stock motor LLY.

We have installed and tuned plenty of S366s - cast, billet, Bat, and Double Bat.

Like Mark I am a firm believer in the results of the Bat and Double Bat wheels. As a BullsEye dealer we can obviously still get the older style billet wheels if we want them, and could do like other shops and make more money by buying box unit BW turbos from BW distributors and then swap in BullsEye (or "our own design") billet wheels.

My personal daily driver will be getting a Double Bat S366 - the LMM that Jonathan mentioned sold me on having that turbo on my daily driver. Awesome spool up and is flat out impressive in the top end for a "little" 300 series charger; and staying in the 300 gives me some boundaries for the truck so that I'm not tempted to keep pushing it to the next level (that's what the race truck is for).

All of this is comparing BW based to BW based. As has been mentioned Precision turbos are in a whole different financial class and I haven't had the opportunity to run one.
