Well, I ended up working my way down to an 11.62 @ 116.93 with a 1.80 60' time on the 2200 tune. I went against my better judgment and added some fuel with a 2500 uS tune. The trans didn't like it much since it hadn't had any time to learn, and I ended my night by exploding the lower hot side boot. I was rewarded with an 11.57 @ 113.16 with a 1.82 60' time. I'll post some pics of the boot later.

Congragulations you lasted 1 week for not turning up the fuel:D

Awsome times Josh! what was your first thought when the boot blew apart? What kinda of boot was it? Stock?

My first thought was, "I hope that was just the tube blowing out of the boot", and then when I saw it I thought, "Damn, now what am I going to do to get home?" Luckily, there was a guy there from CompD that I met at the track, and he had a roll of duct tape he let me use to patch it up so I could baby it back to the house.

No, it's a Banks intercooler. Do you know of a good source for an upgraded boot to replace that one? It's the only stock boot left on the truck.

i like the Actual Banks boot... perfect fit and its 4 ply IIRC

Ummm, I don't know. My 60 psi gauge was pegged...

I have a 100# gauge, but when I hooked it up after sitting in the house for over a year, it decided it didn't want to work anymore

Well, other than the carnage, congrats on the 11's Josh. :thumb:

Whats the deal with the relatively-high 60ft times, though? Are you overpowering your tires?

I think it's a combination of a heavy truck with too much power and only having a set of 265 BFG A/T knockoffs for tires. I'm going to pull some weight out next weekend and see how much better I can do.

nice time josh, hey i dont know if this helps you, but im running the banks as well, and im usuing my stock lb7 boots and they hold great, shove the pipe a little further into the boot on the charge side and a nice full clamp width on the cooler side, just how i run mine if that help, congrats on the time:thumb:

Thanks Dimitri. I think I need to try clocking the compressor cover a little to get the tube closer. I can just barely get the boot on the width of the clamp on both ends.

Also Josh , I made some simple little peices for my truck that seem to help , I took some 3.5" tubing , cut it the width if the "gap" between the 2 pipes , then cut it in 1/2 so you have 2 "C"'s that overlap each other once you put them over the boot, and then put a t-bar clamp over it and snug it barely tight . It wont help the tube blowing off , but it will help the boot from ballooning out , I made one for every boot on the truck and so far so good .

Josh, we finally blew up the stock one on Max'd out last week. I had bought a backup from GM and it seems twice as thick as the original boot, this one is very stout. The GM part # for the thick one is 15019995. They are proud of them though.

I'm also working with a boot company on these and he feels he can built a boot that will handle 110 psi. I'll keep you informed.
