Yeah i understand what you are saying but im saying about most of the engine builds whats the difference most of the 2.6 trucks running 3.0 clipped wheel turbos with big injectors, bored blocks, cam work, head work, air to water intercoolers, cut pistons, and so on, what all does the 3.0 trucks have done to there engines only handicap for 3.0 with the dmax is that the alli really struggles spool them big chargers which is why there aint many 3.0 dmaxs

I agree with you there. that was the one downfall of the 2.6 class is when they started allowing water to air, ag governors, 3.0 chargers with 2.6 covers. duals on non dually trucks. It should have stayed a true 66mm class. no bigger than a s300 frame. Then 2.8 would still be around. If I was starting out in pulling again and was planning on building a truck, I would honestly build a 3.0 truck right out of the gate. It would be cheaper than building a 2.6 truck. Because broken axles and ring and pinions, etc. really start to add up after a while.

Until i see big cubes dominating, its just not worth it imo. If someone is running big cubes in the 2.6 class, i think they just threw there money away, or the 2.8 class for that matter.

And yes, theres a huge jump between the 2.6/3.0 class. Its hard to get the numbers to compete with the ITPA, wes is the only dmax that has successfully done it, and his truck is far from a standard built dmax.

Yep......I have heard rumors that there will be a couple 7.1 strokers in the 2.6 class this year. I just don't think a 2.6 will flow enough air for what that motor has the potential for.

Yeah, there was some 7.1 strokers in the 2.8 class this year.. they didnt dominate. I heard there was atleast one at scheids, idk if it was true, but it didnt make it into the finals.

I think the stroker idea is a great idea for 3.0, just not for 2.6.

Wonder why they wont make it a 2.8 truck and flow more air and use all of that hard work they are putting in it

I would really like to see more 3.0 dmax's and I wished around here they had more 2.8/3.0 pulls through the pulling season instead of once every 2 months

Is B.O.B dropping 2.8 and just going with 3.0? The only problem with 3.0 hooks is if its not Illinois then Kentucky and Indiana I don't think have enough 3.0 trucks to have that many 3.0 hooks

I have heard alot of rumors on alot of things most of the 2.6 pullers is trying to make the 2.6 rules alot more strict so alot of the trucks will bump to 2.8 making a big 2.8 class and I think I heard that there was 80 2.6 pullers pulled in battle of the bluegrass this year and to me that is impressive I cant wait for the meeting to see what flys I heard kottpa dropped there 2.6 class from a 8500 lb to 8000 lb and that your truck must be full interior with all the factory seat all head lights, tail light must work, and must be insured

I hate to say it but with no 2.8 and with 2.6 not being a street class anymore I see no need for full interior in these trucks anymore. I'll go with the two matching seats, and full dash, and door panels. But I don't see a thing wrong with ripping out the carpet,. And its always been in the 2.6 rules that all the lights have to work. the problem with 2.6 was it was so easy for the 2.8 guys to drop down, all they had to do was throw a cover on and drop down. It won't be that easy with the new B.O.B/COTPC/ITPA 2.6 turbo rule. But on the other hand protrusion will not effect the horsepower level at all if whoever is building the turbos knows what they are doing:thumb:

Well on the schied built ford the same one that broke the other night everywere around here he pulls 2.6 class which is BS but when he goes to schieds, TS , or the super pull he pulls 2.8 which I am wondering what he has done to that truck that throws the red flag at the bigger pulls because the tech ppl around here are dumbass's because half of them cant even tell you which engine is which and he always sneak's in 2.6 class here and put about a 50 ft ass kicking on everybody and nobody really wants to put up the money to protest him for it is worth

The reason he can't hook 2.6 at Scheids and Ts and bigger events is because of the Danco transmission. Which he shouldn't be allowed to hook 2.6 at all with that tranny
