The more you limit the 2.6 class, the more expensive it gets. Ever heard of Super Farm? Pretty simple turbo rules have turned it into Nascar.

I respect your $.02 and I have my own. I've read enough BS on the 2.6 class on another site and don't want to get into it on this one.

I agree with you that its becoming too much like Nascar. Unfortunately everyone thought going to 1/8" protrusion rule was going to fix the class and pull back the horsepower, but the sad part is its just made it more expensive, and it won't pull back any of the horsepower. Just like if they went to the restricter tube idea, guys would find ways around the restricter tube to get back some of the horsepower that they would be losing.

Texas Y'all
That kind of class takes a mid level money class (what 2.6 used to be) and makes it a deep pockets class (which it is now). And regardless of which class (other than an "unlimited"), limiting it by driveline is a road to a slow death of a class (just look at your pulling history books and what has happened to gassers and tractors in other areas of the country).

If you limit by power by drivetrain, guys can either limit power to save the drivetrain (some will), refuse to limit their power and keep breaking chit (until they can no longer afford it), or keep breaking chit and buying custom part$ and/or new part$ (many overnight to make the next points pull).

Limiting the class by drivelines is a deep pocket's best friend.
Pulling isn't cheap, but give 50% of a class a chance vs 5%. Limit power at the source and not at the ground....

My .02

I really dont think the discussion was limiting power by the drivetrain, it was wether or not a certain transmission should be allowed to pull in that class. I dont care what they do with the rules from here on out, this hobby of pullling diesel pickups will never get any cheaper unless you just set in the stands.
