Well i guess its time to start my build thread, was just gonna throw stock stuff back in it and call it a day. Now im gonna go ahead and do it right. Ive searched about pistons but still on the fence what route to take. I know im doin carillo rods, hamilton springs, arp head and main studs, (insert your recommendation for pistons here). Any particular bearings i should look into getting? Im all ears lets here some opinions. Also im gonna fab a set of 64/s480 twins.

I had a chat with Guy, and I think I am going with the Mahl forged. I don't really think I will get another 160k out of a built motor...

I'm guessing that something will happen that requires a refresh, so why buy an endurance piston when you will never get the longevity? I'm leaning towards strength and going back in at some point to re-ring.

Just my thought...

Give my bro Chris LaDuca @ Ross Pistons a call for a consultation.

I went with forged after taking out 6 cracked cut and coated pistons (1 fully cracked and 5 others with small cracks). Haven't driven the truck due to boost leaks yet though.

I've seen the same, One cracked and the other 7 small cracks beginning where the valve reliefs meet the bowl. This engine was run at 800HP + fuel only and a hand full of runs with lots of nitrous.
