I got a hole in one after I hit my first shot OB. It was a nice par. I couldn't stop laughing for an hour after that.:D

I'm a fellow hacker. Not very good but I have a great time. Shoot mid-90s on a good day. Putting is my downfall. This was the first year that I didn't golf once. Hurt myself playing hockey last winter and didnt want to risk getting hurt again before I got married. I really freakin missed it and cant wait till next year.

Ice Hockey is my 2nd favorite sport. A lot of fun and challenging. Also takes a lot of hand eye coordination. Sailing a slapshot top shelf on a goalie and watching him turn and look over his shoulder to verify the kill is about as rewarding as a 300yard + bomb off the teebox.

I like that story. Probably how my first one will come. Tin cup that bitch

When I hit my first ball OB it went way up a hill and stayed there. I hit the second ball to the same hill and it rolled down to the green. It was an elevated green so I knew the ball was on the green but could not see it. When we got to the top I couldn't find my ball and I saw my buddies laughing their asses of staring into the cup. It was funny. I never got to see it go in.

Fellow golfer here as well. Started playing when I was 3 and never looked back. I'm 27 now and enjoy every round for what it is - a chance to not think about anything else for 4 hours, enjoy (all) the scenery, hang with some good guys, and have a chance to take some of their money. I played varsity in high school all 4 years and for my 2 years in tech college. Played summer tourneys when I wasn't playing school events. The game and the people I have met have taught me a lot about life as well. I play 1-2 times a week at my local club and currently have a 3 handicap. Best I have been is a +1. When you bring the gambling aspect into golf, that is too low - have to give everyone else too many strokes. Also takes an incredible amount of time to maintain, which I used to have but don't anymore. Maybe someday again before I get too old I'll try to go low on the handicap again. But until then, I'm happy being able to shoot right around par, and if I really want can polish up for a couple weeks and go low.

As for sticks, I have a Ping Ug-Le putter, Vokey wedges, Mizuno mp-29 irons w/ 6.0 project-X shafts, a 18* Mizuno Fli-hi utility club, Tour Edge Exotics CB-3 13* 3-wood w/ x-stiff Fujikura shaft, and a TayloMade R-11 driver with an Aldila RIPD NV X-stiff shaft. I had just the stock TP shaft in the driver and couldn't control it, so I got fitted by the TaylorMade rep this spring. After 12 shafts I settled on this one. My contact is unbelievably better, I'm more accurate, and I gained (no joke) consistantly 20 yards. I was averaging around 300 yds off the tee before and it was all over. Now it's 320 and most of the time in the fairway. It made me a believer in club fitting. I will never buy another wood or set of irons without getting fitted.

What does everyone play for balls? I personally always have, and probably always will play Titleist. Been playing the Pro-V1 X since it came out. I try all the others every year, but never find one better, so I stay with what works.

Sorry for the novel. Just really enjoy everything about golf and figured I'd share.

Started playing this year using my g/f's brothers clubs. Went out to play a quick 9 and ended up nailing a moving cars windshield. Dude stops his car and I walk up to him, he is nervous as all get out. I explain that he can call the cops, his insurance company, or take my information and I would pay 100% of the repair. He didn't want to call the cops and wasn't interested in turning it over to his insurance so he took my name and phone number but never called. I estimated the windshield around $200 or so and when he never called, I took that money and bought myself a starter set.

I played today, shot a -1 on a quick 9 at my local club, snoqualmie falls:woott:
today my game felt pretty good, i only had one errant drive, shot regulation on almost every hole and made several solid 12' putts to save par and one bird! Although my favorite holes, moderate par5's i missed the green with my favorite club, both times short and right, all and all it was a perfect day to golf here in washington and it was nice to get out and take advantage of it!

Today i played a nike "vapor" black for the second time and i really like the way the ball plays and feels, i usually play bridgestone b330 in summer and e6 in all other seasons, now i may switch to the vapor black?

Yet another round (1/2 round) without a "hole in one" closest i got was about 8':roflmao:

You are the typical person with no hand/eye control. You probably use a funnel for sex.:roflmao:

Is this sex with (i.e. banging a funnel) OR sex incorporating a funnel in the act?
I'm just trying to imagine:D

I'm going to use this line, where did you hear it and how long ago?

Good one mike! Made me laugh for sure. I love Golf. It is the most challenging sport in the world if you ask me. If you don't have hand/eye coordination don't bother. Very humbling game. Just when you think you are a good golfer, you will hit a slump and a bad round will send you to the 19th hole to laugh it off or into a lesson with a pro to fix a few things. Not to get preachy but Golf has taught me a lot about life. Consistency is key, stay humble, keep emotions in check, respect others (etiquette), be patient, work hard.

On a lighter note, on a golf course there are no women to nag you, legally can drink and drive, vulgarity and flirting with the cart are allowed, and you can enjoy nature and peace and quiet. Those that enjoy golf will agree the satisfaction that comes from a 300+ yard drive or sinking a long putt sure is awesome:thumb:

I couldnt stand there or sit for that matter and watch someone else play it but I sure do love getting to the course! Very tricky game... Your on one second and in the woods the next.
Sadly my best shot was a 60-yd iron shot from the rough that bounced once on the green and then in the cup upon landing.... I say sadly because I was playing by myself that day and so I have no one to attest to it.

Good point Chris. If nobody ELSE saw it, don't count and don't bother sharing lmao.

What do you wear when golfing?
Public or private course i wear sport slacks and 3 button collared shirt. I tend to have a different set of clothes for private course play though.

I suck at golf, but I take customers and do charity scrambles. Even though i'm bad, its still a blast to play!

I didn't start playing until 2 years ago, I only play a hand full of times a year (once a month at best) so my experience is very limited.

Breathable polos and shorts. Slacks is straight poser unless you have a mosquito problem. I play public and private courses and I can't handle playing the same course all the time gotta change it up. Fix your divots people for the love of god!
