In 4 year of completive pulling we have never hurt the trans, running 3.42 in 3rd for 3.25 years and switched ratios went to 4th for last 3/4 of the year, going to 4th is by far the best bet once the power goes up, running 3.42s we have shelled out everything between the ring and pinion and trasn multiple times, 3 tcases wether it be twisted main shafts or exploded cases, 2 built drive shafts 1 set of ring and pinions and 1 rearend housing. as for the ally....we wont be leaving it anytime soon!!

Bringing this back up! I am having problems getting my truck to get above 1500rpm's by stepping on the brakes and trying to build boost and rpms.
My converter is supposed to be a 3000rpm converter and thought I should have no problem brake stalling up to 2500 at least. Would the brake/ torque management be limiting this? What size converters have you guys been running on 2.6 trucks?

What converter are you running? Is it wanting to push thru the brakes at 1500? I had a similar problem last yr with a converter that was suppose to be 3000 stall but truck was pushing thru at 2300 so I sent it back got it restalled and has been great ever since. I think the company just had it stalled wrong

Its a PPE Precision with a billet stator that was sent in and restalled to 3000rpm. It has not been ran since it was restalled.

I honestly feel that you will not spool that charger without some in seat tuning. It isn't pushing thru the brakes at that rpm, it just won't rev anymore, right?

It's pushing thru the brakes at anything over about 1,500 rpms. I'm going to bleed my rear brakes and remove the ABS fuse and see if that helps at all first. I don't have a problem buying a new converter if that's the problem, but don't want to buy one if its something else.

I thought you meant it won't rev. Hopefully mark has ran into the tuning thing before and has it already figured into your tune. That undivided housing and big turbine are something else to get Rollin. Combine that with 2.25" tubing and remote mounts and it seems impossible.

It will definately take some time in the seat and some finesse to get your setup to spool at the line. But converter or something else might not be helping
