Your converter isn't right. Send it back.

That's what I'm thinking also. I didn't get to work on it at all last night. I think I'm going to see about getting a 3200-3400rpm converter.

My first pull is May16th and is looking like I might not be ready by than!

I sent Andrew@suncoast a pm for a price on a converter yesterday and never received a response!

Call Goerend and get Dave's high stall sled puller converter. I know a guy who's seen 3200 before releasing the breaks at the line on a smaller turbo than yours...which should make more torque and try to blow through it sooner.

We get 3000 out of our sc 1055 in 3rd gear and ~3200 in 4th. Excellent convertor, couldn't ask for any better. Couples well before locking, etc. I don't think I'd leave subcoast based on our experience for this application.

Just bought a converter from a member that had a spare on the shelf he was willing to sell me and ship quickly!!! Not positive the converter is the problem yet. But wanted to make sure I have one to swap quickly if it is.

Thanks for all the help and suggestion's everyone!!!

Harbin, you right I should have just called Andrew! It's really hard for me to make long distance calls during the day at work.

My work blocks long distance on the shop floor phones because Asians that worked 2nd and 3rd shift would make long distance calls overseas to family all night!!! Lol

We switched from the 1055 to a 1053-1. We never saw anywhere near 3k out of the 1055 ever. No lockup issues with either.

Well....I bleed the brakes and its better, but can still only get up to about 10psi and 2000-2200rpm. Abs fuse didn't seem to make any difference. My new converter came today so I will probably just change it out.

Do the higher stall converters drag the rpms down some when put in gear like a stock converter does or not. The one that's in my truck now drags the rpms down about 100rpms and have to have my foot on the brakes firm to keep from moving.

My 1054 kind of does that but it is a tight converter
