Having a lockup controller that actually works and performs as advertised? Priceless. :joker:

There are some things money cant buy, for everyone else who wants a widget that locks/unlocks the converter on-command, theres the BT DieselWorks Allison lockup controller.

Why are you being negative? He clearly states GUARANTEED to work? If it doesn't then he'll return your money! Why not put up or shut up?

If I were Ben I'd put you on the blacklist like other vendors have to others. Do not sell policy!

Because once Simon gets it in his head that he's smarter than someone, then for some reason everything they say or do is wrong somehow.

I may try one out Ben , do you have a "Automatic" version yet ?

Trent I sent you a PM.

If anyone else wants different characteristics with theirs (ie, faster/harsher apply, softer apply, time delay from when you push the button until the TC actually locks, etc..) just ask and I can custom program the box for you.

Thanks Ben , shoot me a cost and i will see when i have the $$ to pick it up and play with it , I am a bit skeptical , not against you Ben, just whether lock up is actually even possible in certain situations at certain power levels , what i am using now has worked good , but don't have enough runs on it , but always looking for something better and if your cool with taking it back if it doesn't then i really cant go wrong .

Yep, as I said its guaranteed to lock the converter when you push the button.

It controls the TCC solenoid directly, so it doesnt matter if the TCM "freaks out".

We tested it on Kyle's (dmaxfireman) truck; he is making some pretty solid power and it locked up the converter right when the "LOCK" button was pressed.

We tested it under the exact same circumstances/conditions that other mfg's lockup boxes failed to lockup on Kyle's truck, and mine worked perfectly.

Ben, how long do you think it will be before the 6 speed units are ready to ship?

The 6-speed units work perfectly for LOCKUP right now. I just have to test the UNLOCK portion on Kyles truck sometime this week.

If you want one ASAP I can send one, but I cant 100% guarantee the FORCE UNLOCK portion will work. Mostly this is for sled pullers; in street driving/drag racing there is no situation where you would want to force-unlock the converter.

Of course once you lock the converter, its not like it stays locked, as that would be an obvious safety hazard. As soon as you tap the brake pedal, it completely disengages, regardless of what mode its in. :)

I just wanted to clarify; the $425.00 price reflects a custom-programmed/configured box. The standard 'off-the-shelf' lockup/unlock controller is a bit less expensive, PM me depending which model of the box you are interested in.

downside to locking up harsher/faster besides a kick in the butt and broken driveline parts?

basically will it hurt the converter more to lock harder?

In my own opinion, I would think, no it will not hurt the converter. Because with a quicker apply you are slipping the clutch less before it becomes fully applied.

I would wait for Mike to weigh in on this first though.

it seems to me like a much greater amount of heat would happen but for a shorter amount of time....
