    Cracked Piston solutions?

    Has anyone ever replaced stock Pistons with mahle Pistons without balancing the rotating assembly? I know for years people were cutting and costing Pistons and not having any trouble. Why couldn't you just swap all 8 Pistons and roll on with a stock application?

    Just curious how many people have seen pump failures and how many times have you seen it? I have seen 5 in the past 2 years and they have all been random except one which was junk right out of the Allison box. Just curious on numbers.

    I've always wondered.. Does anyone have an opinion on oil return orientation? All facing the front of engine, back of engine, facing each other. I've always assumed it didn't matter which direction. But was just going back together with one and wondered. I like hearing people's opinions...

    I'm betting there wasn't enough play on the snout at pump gear and it swelled some more and popped pump gear again.
