    Tow Mirror Killer Build

Correct, F1 is an East Texas company more common in the cummins world but has dome some good work in the dmax comminity as well. Josh ran them in his built motor and had nothing but good things to say, so we are going to give them a shot here.

    Tow Mirror Killer Build

Well, I guess it's time to start this thread. I dropped off the LBZ in January with JoshH at Top Notch Garage to replace the headgaskets and install the twins. LOL, that soon became a full build "since we are already there"... To Do List... Fingers Oval Cuts 16.1 Carrillo Rods SoCal 6480 AF...

    06 lbz loosing coolant

Sounds like a possible headgasket issue. Not all headgasket failures will puke coolant out of the overflow or push coolant into the oil. Some of them can have the same symptoms as yours and simply be a minor flaw in the gasket. If it is a minor headgasket, it will likely push coolant in the...

    Ounces vs LBS

Simple enough. I only see about 300-350lbs listed there though. Anything else removed or maybe cut out?

    Ounces vs LBS

Where are you guys pulling the weight from? I weighed in at 6240 without me in it, tailgate on, 1/4 tank of diesel, B&W gooseneck hitch still in it, on factory 245's. I removed the factory receiver hitch, spare tire, and second battery. Haven't done much else yet for weight reduction.

Took the Reg Cab to the track...

The tracks will open up again in the spring, I am sure we will be there again. I have heard the 1/8th mile in Midland will not be reopening unless it is under new management. Penwell has a 1/4 mile track but it is only open periodically.

Took the Reg Cab to the track...

Put it on the scales yesterday. Weighed in at 6240lbs without a driver and about 1/4 tank of fuel. Need to shed about 480lbs to make it 6000lbs with a driver. Should be as simple as pulling the bumpers, tailgate, gooseneck hitch, and maybe a few odds and ends. She got some new shoes today! :woott:

Took the Reg Cab to the track...

Ha, I tried to get him to bring a bottle to Ennis so we could spray it straight into the airbox... He chickened out!

Took the Reg Cab to the track...

She had a blast. The announcer was definitely giving her a hard time. Mods are JoshH tuning, JoshH built trans, fleece lockup box, spring clamps, air dog 165, and DHD steering brace. I haven't thrown the twins on yet, still need to address the headgasket first.

Took the Reg Cab to the track...

Had to go to the track for their last test and tune of the season in Midland, TX. Stock motor, Josh's tuning and built trans with fleece lockup box, spring clamps, tailgate and spare tire removed. Still has the gooseneck hitch etc. in it. Haven't pulled it on the scale yet, will try to do it...

    Finally Hitting The Track

Good looking pickup! Not bad on the times, 8.17 should be around a 12.7. I think my 12.68 pass in ennis was a 1.84 60' and an 8.16 1/8th. Similar setup as yours minus the caltracs and weight reduction.

06 LBZ Reg. Cab with bad engine worth?

Yup, paid $5500 for mine! Took me 2yrs to find one at that price though.

out with the old, in with the new!!

I haven't run the max effort since I do not have gauges yet. The street tune is laggy and tons of smoke on the bottom. Runs great on the top side though. Looks like an old 12v cummins if your not careful. The economy/tow tune is a great all around tune. Light smoke but crisp on the bottom...
