    Good Scan tool recommendations

I cancel my subscription after the year ends, then don't start a new one until I come across a function of data pid that I need. Ive been making it a couple years between paying the subscription. I first verify that the update includes what im looking for, then have the tool truck guy update the...

    Good Scan tool recommendations

I use Snap On but I've been told Autel has great support & updates. Which is a large reason to go with Snap On. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

Unknown tunes want to go back to stock California LBZ tune

If the switch has the indexing ring removed, or re indexed, it can have 10 positions. A dsp5 file will only use the first 5, though. Years ago I indexed mine to have only 3 tunes. Tow, street, race. Used dsp1 & 2 only (in the file there are 1 thru 4 dsp's plus the base tune = 5). Sent from my...

Bare minimum of upgrade parts needed for longevity for a sub 700hp build.

If you pull the oil fill cap off of the engines while running, you can hear the noise difference in the cam gears. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

    Catastrophic

Yes, limited pro stock. So 3.0 smoothbore turbo. 1500hp capable class. Lowest class that allows any driveline components (dropbox transfer case, reverser transmission, semi truck rear ends) but highest class that still requires DOT tires Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

    Rebuild????

There are plugs in the block in the oil galley. Your factory oil pressure sender is in the next to rearmost port on the drivers side. (Disregard any non hex plugs/fittings you see on this engine in the pic). You can plumb a gauge into any of the ports. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

    Hand throttle setup

On our old truck, I bought a steel handle throttle lever from a tractor pulling parts company, welded it to a stock pedal assembly and bolted it down. Had to upgrade return springs, got one from hardware store. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

Looking for a picture and the difference of the LB7 and the later style pistons.

Turns out the Wagler "delipped" pistons have .010 taken off the top and are not delipped. This is their standard off the shelf piston but you can order them any way you want. I ended up having 2 lml short blocks here at 1 time to do. One of them was totally stock, used the 224-3935 set in it...

To be clear, I have not had any oval bowls fail. I don't think I insinuated that above, but want to clear that up either way Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

Looking for a picture and the difference of the LB7 and the later style pistons.

I know im just one guy on the internet but I've put numerous duramax together, for all power levels and applications. The race cast have failed in enough of them that i won't use them again. Then I talk to Jeremy wagler and he says the same thing. So seems like we are out of options except what...

Looking for a picture and the difference of the LB7 and the later style pistons.

I think I mentioned it in another thread, but the new go-to piston, according to Jeremy wagler himself, is the mahle aftermarket stock replacement for a LML. Part number 224-3935. Their delipped piston package starts as them now. Wagler along with myself have had almost every set of motorsports...

What is the max reliable overbore on a LMM block without filling the jackets?

You can sleeve a Duramax. Always stick to the smallest possible bore size, but like mentioned there really aren't on-the-shelf options for going very big anyhow. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk
