    Question on harmonic balancer bolt

You may not have been aware that there is a locating pin in the crank that fits into the damper so that the damper is locked into position with the crank. That pin may have slipped off and you didn't notice it.

Good compression - Bad balance rate

Thanks. I saw that one too, very informative. I thought that I remembered something like if a cylinder had a high + number, that could be because the previous one in the firing order slowed down the engine and was the cause for the next firing cylinder to have a high number, to even out the...

Good compression - Bad balance rate

https://www.duramaxforum.com/threads/help-me-understand-injector-balance-rates.931706/ Post #9 by MrWizzard explains a lot about balancing for my understanding. For those who really understand, it is probably elementary school.

Good compression - Bad balance rate

Much of the connector info is available from the Electrical Manual at GM Upfitter. Google for it because the web site does not have correct labels on the older trucks

Good compression - Bad balance rate

Please educate us what a balance rate of +4.5 means? What is the ECM attempting to do and why? I think I know, but sometimes I'm wrong.

    LBZ Fan Clutch

As long as you aren't overheating i.e the fan clutch really locks up (you'll hear the big fan roar) and starts the temp down, or at least it holds the temp from going up more, I wouldn't try to improve with a fan clutch. Back off the throttle a little, Maybe even drop the trans a gear. Boiling...

Take a look at the attachment. These newer tanks are different, just different. Not sure I understand them.

Those numbers are pretty consistent with each other. I don't know what they should be however.

Fleece Performance 2004.5-2007 Duramax PowerFlo In-tank Lift Pump?

My lift pump pushes out a whopping 30 GPH (when it was new - 14 years ago) and I've never run out of fuel. But I'm not racing or using the engine at extreme outputs except for a few seconds at a time. There may be a few people on the forum that do, but very few.

    Noise from Subwoofer

I just looked at the box. Each of the neutral and ground terminal strips was grounded to the copper ground rod.

    Noise from Subwoofer

I don't have another RCA. It's about 25 ft long, the best I remember- up one wall across in the attic and down another wall. I used an extension cord, plugged the sub and the receiver into one end, and tried both receptacles with the other. No difference between the two receptacles. Then I...

    Noise from Subwoofer

At this point, the receiver has no ground (I just looked and the receiver cord is only a 2-prong cord), and the sub has no ground due to the 2-prong adapter added to the grounding plug.

    Noise from Subwoofer

When the remodel work was done, new wiring was attached the old 100amp service. The next year or so, The electrical supply was replaced with 200 amp service, new box of course, and there is a ground now. I'll have to look and see what they did with the ground and neutral from the box.

    Noise from Subwoofer

Thanks Jason. I think I understand. So I'm thinking if both the receiver and sub are plugged into the same grounded receptacle, that would be a good place to start. Both units would have the same electrical power inputs and grounds and all should be good under that setup, true? Well, I've been...

    Noise from Subwoofer

I believe my mom had a few 3-prong to 2-prong adapters around. I'll try one if I can find them. Hardware store close by if I can't. I'll let you know how it goes. Found one and no noise/rumble so far. Truck electronics need ground to complete a circuit, but houses do not. I thought that the...

    Noise from Subwoofer

This question pertains to noise in my subwoofer, not in my car, but in my house. The Phoenix house was built in 1947 and did not contain a ground circuit to any outlets. I inherited the house from my mother about 12 years ago and had some interior remodeling done, mainly in the kitchen area...
