Disconnect the negative cable on both batteries for 15-20 minutes then reconnect and see if there is any improvement. Beyond that, I think you should leave it alone so that the diesel guy has a chance of seeing what the problem is without having to fix something additional that you did while you...

Follow the negative cable down to the side of the block near the front of the engine, remove the bolt, and use a wire brush on the block and cable end until shiny. Replace the cable and bolt and tighten. Very easy to do. I can't say it will help, but you will know for sure that the ground is as...

    Fuel injector knock

Our trucks normally will have a MAF reading of close to 40 gm/sec with the EGR closed. Your reading sounds like the EGR may be open to some extent. When the EGR opens, the MAF reading drops because that exhaust gas bypasses the MAF sensor. There have been several posts over the years about MAF...

    No start issue.

You shouldn't have 23K rail pressure when cranking. Sounds like FPR is not connected or getting power or ground.

What you are trying to do is to test both batteries after being charged (after driving). They should have nearly the same charge. If you let the truck sit overnight, the batteries should retain their voltage. If you have a parasitic draw, the draw should draw down both batteries because they are...

    Service Brake System message

You might want to disconnect the negative on one of the batteries overnight and then test the next morning, checking both battery voltages. Then switch the next night and retest the other battery the next morning again. The 2 batteries should have almost the exact same voltage. I suspect they...

    coolant fan relay location

There is no coolant fan relay. No electrical connection at all to the fan clutch like in later models. It is purely driven by temperature. You probably need to change the fan clutch itself.

    L5P Coolant drain and fill

I don't have a picture but there should be block drains on the block which look like bolts where nothing is attached. They are on the sides of the block below the exhaust near the bottom of the casting.

Efi live question motors lmm 07

Is your truck at the only place in town where there is a diesel mechanic? Or auto diagnostician? Just because you can't communicate with the ECM/BCM doesn't necessarily mean that they're bad. Your problem COULD BE the ECM or BCM but without proper diagnostic evaluation, you'll never know. Lots...
