    where to start?

You came to right place, DD has 'em all from mild to stupid fast. I would start at the trans then go to the add ons. You can make it as fast and dependable as your wallet will allow. IMO - it's you daily driver/tow rig, get the thing that's gonna give you the most grief and cost the most...

Any one know the story on this truck

eek, somebody is in financial trouble or "feeling" the market for a poke at 85K. IIRC this guy is from the DP, started this one at MErchants, the top of the engine is red as well. IMO if your gonna drop 50-100k on a truck you ain't never sellin it... you have to commit up front to a bad...

    Info: Oil coolers ?

THis is somewhat after the thread fact. Micheal has the best bolt on gig, based on calcs. IMO- the oil needs to be cooled seperate from the water, the factory design is great for efficiencey, until the motor gets hot. I removed the factory oil cooler, and plumbed it totally seperate from the...

No one wants to race anymore.

When i street raced, I had a car, i never dreamt of trying to pound a truck. Hi octane was $4.00 a gallon and i was broke all the time. Frankly i wasn't interested in anything that looked like it weighed more than 4500 lb, and if it did, it needed to have some tire and a hole in it's hood...

Help: How to get the chassis back to black?

The paint isn't a bad idea, I would use a semi gloss, the gloss and flat didn't match my tint so well. When working the paint into tight areas try a toilet paper roll or a paper towel roll to control overspray. :) Sometimes you can even step down to a funnel. Although its a solvent of sorts...

    Up-Pipes and Manifolds

If you have another car to drive just take 'em off and take them over to a good muffler shop. Find somebody whos interested... with that effort you'll hopefully find a guy who does nice work and gives a sh*t. Not much to it really. Money and busted knuckles could be spent with more result.

How do you know your wife REALLY loves you??

She sets aside almost 100k to build a stupid 6000 lb truck? (we should make an emoticon guy with his head up a cows butt for this one, of course wife holds tail out of the way) She logs EFI to diagnose problems while i drive and the dog rolls around the back careening off the doors and a N2O...

    %^$^%^ Contractor strikes again

No retard clause... :D You are taking this very well given it's your house and not at the office. Most people get REALLY irate when it's at the house. He prolly was afraid to drill pilot holes because the washer lines are in that same wall, I assume he didn't run the lines, couldn't confirm...

    %^$^%^ Contractor strikes again

Pat, If you truly intend to litigate this and other items that you feel are not up to standards it is not in your best interest to repair them yourself or use unlicensed repairmen/Contractors. Just a note from somebody who makes his living involved in CONTRACTOR/OWNER LIABILTY, ARBITRATION...

    Race Ready 4l80e

nothing is going to last at the big power levels in a truck 6000 lbs. ponder it , these trucks are big heavy pigs add 1500 pounds of tq trying to push the mass and if the tires don't break out the trans will have to break or the driveshaft will wad up in a pretzel. IMHO. However, to answer...

    LLY: Whats next for me?

As nice as the PPe stuff is, short of EFI, they tend to fuel alot. Put a shot of bottle to it and clean up the smoke? You have the trans for it, shouldn't take a very big shot. Good luck. Welcome to DAA aka diesel addictions anonymous sell your house and first born it gets real fun...

    LBZ: fuel return line size??

I used 3/4" out and 1/2" return line. IIRC that's double the original size on an LLY. My thinking was purdy straight forward. Double in, double out... could be wrong (usually am) atleast the ID ratio between feed and return will remain the same. If you use the stock tank it get's pinched...
