So I found me some mud puddles in the desert last weekend bypassing the traffic coming back from Vegas. But even before this, where I go hunting in the desert has caused all the fine dust to stick to the frame making it brown instead of black. What would be the best way to get it back to black without removing the factory grease/wax, whatever they put on the frame at the factory? I plan on a lift next year and it will look like shit with a brown frame!

I power wash my frame every spring and put the truck on jack stands and go to town with Rustoleum automotive in semi gloss black.

It holds tot he greasy stuff pretty good and makes the frame look awesome.

I use a small square of cardboard to help keep paint from getting places I don't want it.

The paint isn't a bad idea, I would use a semi gloss, the gloss and flat didn't match my tint so well. When working the paint into tight areas try a toilet paper roll or a paper towel roll to control overspray. :) Sometimes you can even step down to a funnel.

Although its a solvent of sorts, WD-40 worked really well for me as well. It just greased it up a little. They make an areosol based undercariage paint/wax crap in a can as well.

Later, good luck.
