    Waiting on penetrating oil to do work on the rust so I can split the turbo and get an exhaust wheel measurement. The question still remains, can this work as a bottom under a stock VVT? Or will it be stupid laggy?

    GT4294 has a 94mm exducer. Doesn't look like anything went through the exhaust housing, wheel looks fine, the divider is cracked on the housing but that's about it. I didn't get an exhaust wheel measurement but I'll see if I can later today.

    Got a couple pics of the turbo. I mistyped it earlier, it's supposed to be a GT4298, and it has a 1.28 exhaust A/R with 5" outlet. The compressor wheel measures out to a 98mm, it's wrecked but the housing looks fine and the turbo feels tight. Any thoughts on running this as a bottom? I think...

    A friend got a freebie turbo off a Detroit 60 Series, he was told it's a Garrett 4294, just needs a compressor wheel (looks chipped up). Anyone have any specs on it? All I know is it's a T6 flange, waste gated, and a 1.2? A/R. Just curious if this would be a useful turbo for anything. Bottom...

    X2! but they seemed to make good power, the newer ones got a little lighter. The money doesn't seem bad as I know of quite a few of them that go 5,000+ miles with little issue.

    What town are you in? Pocatello here, couple hours from Jackson. I have to agree the hill climbs are a blast, and it's one of the most expensive places to live besides beverly hills.

    If you were to do the drop shackles and hangars, what would be the effect? Would the truck be lower with both or would it just get back the correct pinion angle by adding hangars along with shackles?

    Exactly. Who cares, depending on how the dyno was set up and what brand or type it was. You could get some really friendly numbers. I don't see that as a reason to call bs or call someone out who might not know. So would you care more or less if it was from a reputable tuner? Just curious.

    Rough ride after lowering shackles installed.

    Mine seems to ride rougher after the shackles. I've been considering pulling one of the leafs to soften it back up, I've got airbags for hauling anything other than ass. :rofl:
