    My mistake. Basically an oxygen suppressant without the mess. Any reason they wouldn't approve of it in sled pulling? Other than the fact they don't like lines running into the engine that could be nitrous?

    Hope it works out Trent, this could be helpful for a lot of guys if it works out. Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's not up to the task. I'm sure you did the research and wouldn't be putting an insufficient bar in the truck. Safety is like horsepower it shouldn't be skimped on. :)

    Like I said in my first post, tuning can make all the difference. My LLY gets 15ish in town with a lead foot and 19-20 hwy at 80-85mph. That's on my own tune, I could probably get more mileage from a reputable tuner. I wouldn't sell the truck off until you try some other tuning.

    Tuning plays a BIG part in mileage. I would be playing with that as you can pick up or lose a big chunk. In my opinion your Duramax should be comparable in mileage to your Dodge.

    If that's true, that would be the first I know of. I'm with you Kat, neither punishment sounds fun or inexpensive. Especially just to avoid the road tax, doesn't it only save like 58 cents compared to buying from the pump? It would take ALOT of miles to pay the fine with your savings.

    My first idea was definitely a stab in the dark. :) I don't understand why his truck would white smoke and cut out from turning off the EGR with no blocker plate. Doesn't really make sense to me.

    I've still yet to meet someone who has been caught, or even knows the fine. I've heard anywhere from $1,000/gal to a $10,000 flat fine. They check pretty regularly up here and even set up temporary DOT to check construction semi's fuel tanks.

    That does sound odd. I've had mine turned off with no blocker plate for a couple years with no issues (I need one, just haven't done it :o). Maybe it's an LMM thing? Either way, first time I've heard of it happening.
