Ubuntu Linux folding..... time to see how it goes

Straight away noticed a little difference. Don't have exact numbers but at least a half hour decrease and better load balance. Average load imbalance: 8.4 % Part of the total run time spent waiting due to load imbalance: 3.4 % Now have imbalance down to 3.1% and ( hour/ns ) is less than...

    New Year's Thrash.

I see these are listed at the bottom. What is worrisome is the 2393 is the 3.1ghz Opteron I was looking into. Looks to be no better than the 8356 2.3ghz keeping 8 cores respectively. My 2356's and the 2684 WU was barely at tpf of ~56 minutes. Time to spend some time researching on that site...

LBZ: SERIOUS HELP NEEDED - Showing 5 Codes & Running HORRIBLE!

I don't see a list of installed goodies in your sig. but, if you have a chip/power programming of some sort, does this happen on stock setting? Do you have a way of clearing the codes or logging? If you have a way of logging, you might just hook up and log for a half a minute then post up your...

    New Year's Thrash.

I was getting about 18000ppd -bigadv with the 8 cores, do you think the additional 8 cores is only good for about 12000 or will it be a double ppd as compared to my 8 cores and actual throughput? If I understand the 8300 series processors, they are supposed to take the next higher speed memory...

Ubuntu Linux folding..... time to see how it goes

After this work unit is complete, I will be trying strictly Linux on the server, no VM to run f@h windows clients. Ubuntu, Red Hat and open source server of sorts are the options. Hmmm.. wonder what sort of files I will loose in the process? :roflmao:

    New Year's Thrash.

When you get a chance, post machine specs as you add them. I think more folks would be online with f@h if they knew there machines would work. As our list grows, it will be easy for us to get an idea of what to expect from our own computers. Thanks :thumb:

    New Year's Thrash.

Those are the processors I have in my server at the moment. I also have the 2352 opterons but both are just a bit slow for -bigadv WU's. The 2352's are just too slow for -bigadv. I will be going with the 8393 processors and have plans to finish the one server with them I have started...
