    Lots of options in 14 and 16 ply radials in 17.5" diameter. You'll be buying new wheels initially but they shouldn't give you the issues a 10 ply truck tire might.

    Actually the manifold blankets run about $120 a pair. Maybe the lightened wallet will get you into the 10's? :spit: :hug: Plenty of reasons to run blankets, just because they aren't on your truck doesn't make them not worth it.

    I normally space the 3 ring gaps out 120* from each other and the oil ring and expander 180* from each other. I also like to keep any of the ring gaps from the thrust side of the bore. Not sure it matters but that warm fuzzy feeling is nice. .02

    I don't remember off the top of my head what it degreed in at, I'd have to check my notes. I do remember piston to valve was .034 intake and around .065 exhaust.

    How does the intake event stay open longer with retarded cam timing? I guess I just assumed everything was happening later and that a full tooth would have just gave less intake fill time due to it happening late.

    How do you intend to cruise at 1200 rpm? Going to have swap gears or roll on some big tires to cruise at that low of an rpm unless you're crawling down the road at stupid low mph.

    I can't help but feel like you're trying to solve an issue that really isn't there. Keep an intercooler in it. Keep an eye on IAT's if you're concerned, add water and/or turbos as necessary. Deleting an intercooler in the name of simplicity or to save on plumbing cost is the wrong direction IMO.

    Why are you considering ditching it to begin with? Weight? I'm assuming this hypothetical is based off you wanting to ditch it out of a full size truck platform.

    I ran without an intercooler all last year in my street rod. No nitrous or water meth. Put a couple small Chinese intercoolers in this year and it's a night and day difference in inlet temps. You can do it but they make some pretty serious heat without one. So even a mediocre intercooler is...

    Do you get extra prizes at the race for having less turbos or pumps? Why not just put on what it takes to get to the stripe quickest and call it a day? Never understood the refusal to add pumps or turbos just to be the quickest single something truck.

    Sorry to see this Shane. So even after seeing this, why is everyone still hellbent that AF cam is the answer and this HAD to have been caused previously by the standard fire cam?
