    x2 ! We use "Lava Wrap" , it made from crushed volcanic rock suposedly , its good to 2000 deg , I like it alot better than anything else i have used , its easier to wrap pipes , and doesn't make your hands "itch" , price is very reasonable as well , Race parts solutions carries it .

    Yes both of those trucks were over the 1k mark , the bully dog truck sounded great and layed down really strong #'s and so did custom auto's , Johny Curtis dodge also was real close to 1k @ 995. Not sure how the dyno compares but it was Jefferson State Diesels mobile dyno I believe .

    I personally recommend most guys to go with just enough turbo to get the job done HP wise , if you need to big one for your goals the sacrifices wont be a big deal because it was needed , the bigger you go there are compromises and a lot of what you can get away with will depend on where your at...

    Matt did real well in the open class at the RKL dyno event Saturday with 1004 HP , fuel only no correction factor , DA showed 6900 ft ! Congrats Buddy !

    He should be back in the shop tomorrow, Matt and Bill are the main ones who run the dyno, they have both been off for 2 weeks hunting , those #'s are fairly close to what I would expect on that dyno , it runs tighter than most .

    head gaskets...fix or not

    X2 , we pull the engine on every head gasket job we do , even if it isn't faster it seems like we can a much better job and have never had a come back or single leak . I say fix it your self as long as you have decent mechanical ability's and have the patients to do it with out taking short cuts .

    X3 minimum especially for the drivers side would be a that bank . the honest truch is if one is fialing the others are very close behind it usually . i would bet by the time he is into it he will change his mind and do all 4 see he doesnt have to do it again:rofl:

    X2 , the air pressure regulator wont be near accurate , that doesn't compensate for the 40-50 psi of drive pressure pushing on the valve , the only way to tune it is to keep cranking it down and test by running the truck , also considering putting a regulator in the boost hose that feeds it to...

    how is your turbo mounted ? if its by the exhaust flange a charge pipe is all that should need to be modified , if its mounted by the drain flange it could be both , maybe the bracket also depending on the positioning of the turbo.

    It doesn't make it un usable just would have to.make sure they are sized properly for the hp level, if it was sized properly egt's should never be that high.

    up dating this thread also , pulled the heads off today and the heads and short block survived the ordeal, Over nighting them out to DTS tomorrow , cant wait to get them back and get back to the track !!
