Why are compounds good for towing?

What type of cooling upgrades are you running? I was going to ask why you run a 600rwhp tow tune but I guess your last sentence answers that. You don’t think dialing that down and thus bringing the temps down would help in the summer? You don’t think one of the newest generation trucks...

    LB7: SAC-style Injector Life

Any chance the SAC00s will drop further then? I don’t really see a need for me to use the 45s, I likely won’t do more than an EFI tune, maybe a small towing compound setup. So I think the 00s would be best for me, mainly because they should be cheaper.

    LB7: SAC-style Injector Life

DMaxSTORE has the SAC00 nozzles up for pre order! Stoked. These will eventually be going in my lb7. About $700 cheaper than the 45s.

    Diagnosing

By no means an expert like some of the others on here, but can just share my one experience with my bad FPR on my LB7. It idled like crap, super rough and knocky/lopey. At RPM or driving it smoothed out. So, just by that, I'd be inclined to say it's not the FPR.

    LB7: Broken pedal

What was such a pain in the ass about the install? I remember in the Facebook ZF6 group people said it's not exactly a direct bolt in, but that's all that I saw.

    ZF6 cooling needed

If you do go with dual disk and it solves your problem, please update us! I've got a ZF6 with the SB dual disk, but I've only got maybe 2 miles on it, and the truck needs a lot more work before I get to really start testing it out and pulling with it. But it would be nice to know for...

    LB7: SAC-style Injector Life

Great things come to those who wait, I guess :woott: I almost got injectors a couple months back, and really debated between the SAC 45%'s and LDS Bosch, but decided to hold off. As long as the price isn't extraordinary, I'll definitely be looking at the SAC00's!

Diagnosing shake at idle (not fpr)

Just wanted to update the thread for potential future search’s ... When I did my clutch and put the new trans in, the stock DMF was garbage. The flywheel was probably 1/4” out of round on the pilot bearing. With the new southbend SMF the shake is gone. However, I do have a really audibly...

    My regular cab thread

:thumb: That's what I figured, just double what you got about. I've got rubber floors now, I still haven't decided if I want to swap to carpet or not... I feel like if I got carpet I'd still just cover it up with rubber floor mats. But then again the rubber floors aren't as easy to clean as...

    08 tahoe body on 07 2500 frame?

Aren't the frames pretty different from the "cab" back on the Tahoe vs truck? Meaning under the cargo area? I thought I've read others who've wanted to do the same mention that the widths are different and there's a rise up in the frame on the trucks under the bed whereas the SUV's are flat/

    My regular cab thread

Curious how many SF of material that took? I'd like to get some ordered to have on hand for when I pull the interior in my crew cab. Look forward to seeing what else you do. A zf6 swap would really finish it off nice ;)

    Rear main tool

I’m the type of guy that likes to do it right to the best of my ability, I’ll typically use only AC Delco unless there’s significant proof that an aftermarket part is superior. For the $70 or whatever the price is on the bolts, I’d replace them. I’m already into the trans and clutch for...

    Rear main tool

Won’t I be changing out the flex plate anyways with the southbend kit I get? I’m all good for not risking it :thumb: The truck has been covered in oil from some other issues but I’ll take a closer peak at the rear main like I said. I don’t recall it seeming like it was an issue. I haven’t...

    Rear main tool

I am in Southern California Thanks! I would be fine with that, I’ll try and look closer when I’m in there to see if it’s leaking. I would just hate for it to start leaking shortly after I was in there. What’s the opportunity to make it worse? I think I remember reading about there’s a...

    Rear main tool

I’ll be doing a trans swap and clutch install on my LB7 next week. I plan to do the rear main and slave while I’m there. Is anyone willing to loan me the tool? I can give a deposit for it. Also, any other tips and tricks while I’m at it?

    Rebuilt ZF6 price check/rebuilder check

Wound up ordering the trans from them... and the fricken sales guy totally biffed it. Despite talking about ZF6 and the tail housing and what I wanted etc etc, he barely gave any info to the builder and they shipped me an NV4500 for that price. However, he did right on his side and searched...

    Broken ZF6

Just saw that on the strictly ZF6 group. That’s some carnage.

    Rebuilt ZF6 price check/rebuilder check

The other thing I would add is with the help/tools of the guys at the shop my company has, they could guide me through rebuilding the trans I’m sure. But that again depends on finding a tail housing, and not severely damaging anything else internally. For the $2k price, would I really be...

    Rebuilt ZF6 price check/rebuilder check

My ZF6 was feeling kind of tired already, and then I went and completely destroyed my tail housing. I’m not able to find a replacement tail housing, and it’s so bad I doubt it can be repaired. I’m worried even if I found a tail housing or somehow fixed mine, I did a lot of driving on it while...

Diagnosing shake at idle (not fpr)

I think you’re right, I was just curious. It does seem to run well on the freeway and streets, it feels like it pulls as strong as a stock truck should.
