    Larger compressor pumps (garage)

Picked this up just barely. Price was right and it should suit my needs just fine. Rated at 14.1cfm@90psi.

    Larger compressor pumps (garage)

So after messing with the Kobalt this afternoon, I decided I just wasn't going to be happy with this compressor. Put it on the local classifieds and sold it within 20 minutes. Lost $25 on it...I'm ok with that lol.

Finally had a chance to mess with the compressor. Adjusted it down to kick on at 100 psi and shut off at 140. Seems to do a good bit better now. I couldn't get the compressor to shut off at anything lower than 140 psi so i guess that's where it'll be. I adjusted it every which way possible...

Only (2) choices in synthetic 15W40?

Me too. Jeep, s10 and duramax have all used Fram TG since I've owned them.

Good electronic boost controller for lb7

You need to use google. There are about 50 different tuning options available with EFI live from a reputable tuner being #1.

I think I'll snag that pump and throw it on this Kobalt and call it a day.

Well honestly, I really don't need that much air. This Kobalt unit will work just fine as is....it's more of the "want" factor.

You did the math wrong. I rounded up to an even 8 minutes fill time. Which is 480 seconds. The math comes out to 10.3 CFM for this Kobalt. Edit, the actual math for mine comes out to 10.69CFM. Kyle's compressor is a monster at almost 27CFM.

That's awesome, I should have stashed the cash and held out for a better compressor.

The motor is rated at 4.5hp, so I'm sure it'd be ok atleast for awhile. It has a ton more torque than the old Campbell Housfeld that was rated at 5hp. First time i kicked this compressor on, the torque of it shifted the compressor about 3 inches on the cement. The reviews I've been reading on...

Only (2) choices in synthetic 15W40?

Your first statement....I dont necessarily agree with it. Considering gas engines idle at 900°+ and you typically don't hear about coking issues. You'd think that every turbo gas engine on the planet would freeze up solid with sludge shutting them down around 900°, let alone 350+.

Plus I have another 22 gallon compressor that I can link together. I'd rather have 82 gallons at 120ish psi than 60 gallons at 155 psi. Probably take the same time to fill either way but with a good bit more volume considering I regulate it down to 90-100 psi anyways.

A buddy also told me to turn the pressure down to around 130 psi like ferm mentioned. Seems it takes as long to go from 0-120 psi as it does from 120-155 psi. I think it'll help alot. James, very interested to see the results!

Only (2) choices in synthetic 15W40?

Royal purple makes a full synthetic 15w40 @ $35 a gallon lol! With that being said, all I run is standard delo 400. My 167,000 motor looked brand new inside when I tore it down for the built motor.

    Pinion bearing failed

Couple weeks so far and it is doing fine. Pulled the diff cover off after 200 miles to check it out and make sure it was good. Back lash was still perfect and no abnormal metal in the oil. Still haven't tried any donuts yet, but it's a wild ride in a straight line with both tires kicking out at...

5 speed planetaries vs 6 speed

From what I've seen, you can't use a 6 speed p2 planet in a 5 speed, and vice versa. But will an entire 5 speed planet set work in a 6 speed trans? Long story short....have a buddy who stripped the p2 splines off in his 6 speed, he's in a pinch and needs it fixed asap. Only problem is, I...
