02 LB7 CCSB HVAC Control Panel Issues

That's what I'd do, drive around that way until it happens. Then you can pop the filters out in a few seconds and see what's up.

02 LB7 CCSB HVAC Control Panel Issues

You should be able to see the evaporator through the cabin air filter door. Maybe let it get in the weird no-flow state, then pop the filters out and look at the evaporator to see if it is iced up? On my 2003 with the retrofit filters, if I open that door with the fan on, a metric crap-ton of...

Allison 5sp: 2007 LLY prime issues

I am not familiar with the factory lift pump, but if it is anything like my AirDog or any other return style regulated lift pump, it will send excess fuel out the return. The factory return line is very small, so it will try to push out everywhere, not just back to the tank. My truck does the...

Allison 5sp: 2007 LLY prime issues

That's odd. Not 100% sure what to make of that. It is sounding more and more like the CP3. Though like 2004LB7 said, you should try it without the regulator plugged in to see what it does.

Do like GM did for the gaping hole where the old mirror design mounted: cover it with a cheap plastic plate :roflmao: I wouldn't mind the new mirrors half as much if they had extended the window glass to fill the hole (like cars) or even brought back the wind-wing.

Post pics of on board air setups

I use a York 210 A/C compressor as an air pump. It is a kit I bought from Little Shop Mfg. It loses a lot of oil (because A/C compressor), so I run it through a moisture trap after the check valve and pressure switch. Every 30 minutes of runtime or so I dump the oil out of the trap and top off...

    Yeah, ~35". BFG KO2 in 315/70R17.

Allison 5sp: 2007 LLY prime issues

If you pop the return line off, how much total return fuel after cranking/starting/dying? Either the CP3 isn't able to move enough fuel (bad CP3), or it can move enough fuel but it is getting returned too fast (injectors, CP3, FPRV). Or there is a restriction somewhere, but that seems unlikely...

02 LB7 CCSB HVAC Control Panel Issues

The blend door motors have been the same since the mid-1990s on GM vehicles, and they are kind of a crappy design. It is a crappy little DC motor run through 3 sets of plastic (yes, plastic) gears to drive the output. Off one of the gears is another gear to a rotary potentiometer. There are a...

What gear do you guys usually trap a 1/4 in?

It really is case-by-case. If your HP starts to fall off too far as you push RPM, it might be worth the defuel and shift to get back in the powerband. You need to look at the average HP output over the last part of the run. That means how badly does your engine choke out as you rev, and how much...

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

I was going to suggest testing them at temp, but I would imagine the turbo discharge temp will be under 500°F, and most stainless doesn't see any degradation in strength until well over 800°F. Still might not hurt testing a little over intended working pressure just to be sure.

LML Horrendous Duramax Crash this morning

I personally hate the "must blame someone since the perp is a dirtbag" mindset. Would calling off the chase have avoided this accident? Maybe. Was it the pursuer's fault? Hell no, it was the high driver. And who's to say he wouldn't have done the same thing even after pursuit stopped? Or done...

    Quality of paint

Yeah, I am not convinced the new ones are better still. I had hope initially for the 15+, but I am not sure it is actually better than the GMT800, or just a big improvement compared to the GMT900. I guess there is no harm in keeping my old effectively emissions free LB7 until someone finally...

LML Horrendous Duramax Crash this morning

It is tempting to think that, but this is a one in 300 million event. I daily drive a 1998 Pontiac, and it would be vaporized in this situation, but odds are I'll never be in this situation. If you plan for this happening, you're better off driving a dump truck, or safer still not driving at...

LML Horrendous Duramax Crash this morning

Dang, that annihilated the little car. Wouldn't have expected to see such a difference in damage between the truck and other vehicles. I hate drunk drivers. Seems they never manage to kill themselves in their drunken state, just innocent people.

You can enter the VIN on calid.gm.com and it will tell you what OS and segments it should have. Post that up here and hopefully someone will have what you need.
