    Electric Hummer...

Actually, it is a driver issue. The darn electric motors don't give any feedback on how much torque they are putting down. No Motor noise. So you don't really know you are spinning tire. I know this from driving my EV in poor traction situations. Now, after a little practice, I have learned to...

    LLY: Broken piston skirt

Check the other pistons in the area highlighted in the picture. I suspect that is the true crack origin.

    LLY: Broken piston skirt

Not enough pictures to be sure about anything. Obviously the crack had been growing for a while. The pisser cutout has an old dark crack that goes bright when it gave up the ghost. The oil ring too shows an old/new transition going from the ring into the oil gallery. In short, I think the...

    Allison 5sp: LML piston difference

Arrow points to the front of the engine. Since the oil holes and squirter reliefs are ambidextrous, the offset will be in the correct direction in either bank so long as the arrow points forward.

    Allison 5sp: LML piston difference

The offset is supposed to be relative to crank rotation. Is there any mark on the top of the pistons?

Mahle Motorsport cast piston VS Fingers Oval

Nothing. I adjust the design to match the CCs

Mahle Motorsport cast piston VS Fingers Oval

16.5 CR on 0.020" over should be 40.71cc chambers. The rest of the volume comes from the head.

Mahle Motorsport cast piston VS Fingers Oval

Oval Pistons are made to order. That is, any CC value you want, more or less.

At the limits for single injector performance. Need two injectors. ;)

Mahle Motorsport cast piston VS Fingers Oval

Let me interject a little here. In no particular order. Oval pistons are not "perfect". None are. The "tight" portion of the bowl is actually the same width as a stock bowl. The lobes are bigger. As such, spray stays in the bowl just as much, if not better than stock. And there is less...

    LMM: Rotating assembly ?

No, there is a design flaw. Thus the Finger pistons.

LML Belly buster for you smart lads

The Bus is a daisy chain arrangement. Engine and TCM on one end and the BCM somewhere in the middle. I think the port is further out than the BCM. Bottom line is if there is a break in the chain, not data will cross the gap. Most frequently, it is an unplugged or loose connector on one of the...

No, the wrist pin will keep them steady side to side for the most part.

One of the biggest advantages to the cast is that they don't expand nearly as bad as the forged. And the skirts even less. So little, that you can keep very tight piston to wall clearances that will work in essentially all applications.

    Twins with Twins, Anyone?

The marks are from the combination of larger PTW clearance and the additional head size from the coating. There will not be any long term issues from it, but would have liked to see closer bore size. I am fairly sure that the pitting of the coating is coming from impurities leaching out of the...

I have had no luck anodizing the cast pistons. The coating is splotchy and uneven.
