    Compression tester needed

That's awesome. Yea long as that has the pieces to fit a duramax I'll buy it. We use the glow plug holes and not the injector holes right?

    Compression tester needed

So I'm 90% sure my headgasket is Fu*ked. Just need to confirm the bad news so if someone could let me know a part number or link to a compression tester that would be great and cheaper would also be better (I hear harbor freight has one but I don't know which) thanks

    shift timing..oh boy

Thanks Tom. George suggested the same thing and if I run accross one I may just pick it up but for now and for the longet time I've been doing the same thing as jeff using tow haul only for raceing. If I can't get my shifts in this os to be as good as my 01 I may just have to go back

    shift timing..oh boy

not what i said at all, the first question i asked was answered and im grateful for that i found the base table i had been overlooking... however the second bit about clutch release speed hasn't had any light shed on it just yet.. i dunno why you're getting so bent out of shape? if im being a...

also, the only gear thats set differently for t/h and normal in the base setting is 5th. being in t/h cant have an actual effect on the time it takes the clutch to disengage right?

    shift timing..oh boy

yea i know why they are what they are im not as dumb as you give me credit for.... i still think there's leeway in them.... if they were set to the absolute quickest time it takes the clutch to disengage they would all be the same given x gear... that being said,...anyone have an answer to...

well i found the base timing. im an idiot it was right under my nose mike, you say changing that shit timing wont do any good cause it will just will just learn around it but in the same breath you say it will cause a hangup? so far ive noticed a bit of an improvement just changing...

as i understand it changing the shift timing is what the trans shoots for after the tap learn everything... but i could be wrong. basically, im trying to get shifts as good as i did on that 01 os on my 05 os...possibly even better

    shift timing..oh boy

oh and another thing,... does a clutch pack take longer to disengage at a lower throttle? or are the longer low throttle shifts purely for smoothness?

    LBZ: Towing performance

well i know it would be a little of a pain, but i would just try it with the predator and if you become uncomfortable with the egt's you can always stop and change the tune on the next pull off.. i would be scared till i hit 1400 and stayed there for a little while

    LBZ: Towing performance

with a decent sized load those temps aren't bad at all, running a near continuous 1300 should be no problem and even high number for short periods is ok. there is probably some room for improvement with better tunes but i dont see a whole lot. try the stock tune and see what numbers you get

    shift timing..oh boy

oh long story but here goes...ill try and sum up as much as possible. step 1: got my trans built by George... he says i should run a stock TCM tune so i flash one in, only i used an 01. i didn't mind it, took FOREVER to relearn anything but other then that was fine..i liked the shifts alot...
