    I thought the o rings kept the pressure in the cylinder and out of the water jackets??

    O rings look really good and the cup looks good too. Where do you put the locktite at? Around the top?

    Will this hurt anything? Should I replace the o-rings before I reinstall the cup? I was hoping they would not come out with the injectors.....No such luck!

    That's what I was thinking. He's been working on/building diesels for over 20 years. He seems to know a lot and know what he's talking about, so I think I'll give him a shot. :)

    Local diesel mechanic says injectors on passenger side are the "worst" ones. I can't afford to do all 8, so I asked how much he would charge to change all 4 on that side. He said it would be $225.(if I provide the injectors). That sounded pretty reasonable to me, what do you guys think??

    Can anyone point me in the direction of fair priced LB7 injectors? I've seen them from $150 to $230 each. How do you know if you are getting good ones or not? I'd like to pay $150 or less each, but still need a good quality injector that will last a while too. Any suggestions?

    Ok, took the truck to a local diesel shop. The guy hooked a tech II to it and turned off each injector one by one. He said all of them were functioning, and to, before we dig deaper, replace the fuel filter again, this time fill it w/Seafoam. So I did that tonight. It stumbled a bit but idled...

    Exactly, but when towing my camper on uphill grades it shifts in and out before it makes the grade. Like on say a fairly steep grade around 1/2 mile long it will shift down, then as soon as it picks up speed it shifts back up, then back down again because we're still in the midst of the grade...

    Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off overdrive on an allison 5-speed in an 01? At lower speeds towing it seems to want to "hunt" a lot and at times I am wishing I could lock it out of overdrive somehow but didn't know if it was possible or not. Help?? :dontknow:

    That's too bad. I admit, I am still learning about diesels but have been building and working on gas engines since I was 12. So far diesels have really caught my interest and i'd sure like to learn more! :smart:

    That's what I was always taught. Could this be due to an injector laying down and oil being burned off in that cylinder?

    That's what I have read about online....... 7 years/200k, whichever comes first. RIGHT???? This is one time I'd sure like to be wrong!!
