    108.5 mph in the 1/4

all good thoughts, thanks guys. I guess I'm trying to figure out why it broke after 15K miles on that tune, but I'll probably never know. Just trying to prevent another breakage, yet I still want a fast truck. Hopefully the original engine can be built with rods and pistons so I can swap it...

    108.5 mph in the 1/4

although this involves drag racing I think it's more of a parts question. As some of you know I lost a piston(s) in my LMM recently. I found another low mile LBZ and had ordered an MPI twin kit which will be here next week. My question regards the water injection on the truck. My truck is a...

best guess on my LMM damage

just got the used engine yesterday. Still got a few things to do on my Chevelle before I can take it off the rack and pull the engine on the truck. Probably another week or two. Jody

LMM: Building a motor for dummies.

almost exactly the same amount of miles on mine with the built trans and tune, and it also let go. My stock engine should be here in a couple days, and the twins next month. Then hopefully my original motor is okay for a build, but that'll be a while. Jody

25-30 psi at idle, no idea what it was at wot. It's never changed since the truck was new.

best guess on my LMM damage

thanks again. I don't think I was running too much timing or too much boost necessarily as many run more of both without issues. I think it was a combo of all of the above, and the power level is just too high and I found the weak link (stock pistons). For now I'm just going to tame the thing...

thanks Nick, I'll survive. Gonna tweak the tune some though, so as not to be on the edge.

tuning, water meth, stock engine and turbo I have 17K miles on the engine. thanks, timing is bad for this but I knew the risks. 17K with 14K on this tune.

best guess on my LMM damage

yep, my symptoms exactly. Got a line on a stock motor, no confirmation yet. Keep this one for a build later on. Now I need to figure out why it happened so it doesn't do it again. Been running this tune for 14000 miles with no problems until now. Jody

best guess on my LMM damage

thanks Pat. I like your timing tables personally. :) Working on getting another engine, was just hoping that maybe something else could have happened that gave the same symptoms. So broken pistons can be quiet depending on how they're damaged. Jody

best guess on my LMM damage

oil pressure normal, no abnormal engine noises, but has blue smoke all the time out the exhaust, one cylinder has a dead miss, and chugging smoke and compression out the oil fill tube (pushed the dipstick tube out of the engine, haven't found it yet). Is there anything other than a hole in a...

I also have a BigStuff 3, and I will do my own tuning. I tried to fire it tonight, but can't get an rpm signal. Got an e-mail into john Meaney, and hoping it's something simple. Jody
