all good thoughts, thanks guys. I guess I'm trying to figure out why it broke after 15K miles on that tune, but I'll probably never know. Just trying to prevent another breakage, yet I still want a fast truck.
Hopefully the original engine can be built with rods and pistons so I can swap it...

just got the used engine yesterday. Still got a few things to do on my Chevelle before I can take it off the rack and pull the engine on the truck. Probably another week or two.

almost exactly the same amount of miles on mine with the built trans and tune, and it also let go. My stock engine should be here in a couple days, and the twins next month. Then hopefully my original motor is okay for a build, but that'll be a while.

thanks again. I don't think I was running too much timing or too much boost necessarily as many run more of both without issues. I think it was a combo of all of the above, and the power level is just too high and I found the weak link (stock pistons). For now I'm just going to tame the thing...

yep, my symptoms exactly. Got a line on a stock motor, no confirmation yet. Keep this one for a build later on. Now I need to figure out why it happened so it doesn't do it again. Been running this tune for 14000 miles with no problems until now.

thanks Pat. I like your timing tables personally. :) Working on getting another engine, was just hoping that maybe something else could have happened that gave the same symptoms. So broken pistons can be quiet depending on how they're damaged.

I also have a BigStuff 3, and I will do my own tuning. I tried to fire it tonight, but can't get an rpm signal. Got an e-mail into john Meaney, and hoping it's something simple.
