My 04 hit 1400 in 4th gear.
My 08 sees 1600 in 4th also.
As fare as 5th vs 6th gear I see little 50* to no difference on egts.
It's cooler in 6th most all the time.
It's held 1400* for over a hour in the wind. Not to worried since it's done that for 225,000 miles. Lol. Now that's stock, I...
I have auto meter egt and oil, then the edge insight for the rest of the gauges. Just the insight, no power. Lol.
The 08's ran way hotter, my 05 never seen over 1400 stock. I'm hoping it stays cooler with the delete.
Got a 08, EFI live DPF delete. Truck pulls 90% of the time.
Truck has egt on drivers side, has always ran hot, up to 1600* all stock with DPF on. Again that is 100% stock tune air exhaust.
What is a safe zone with tow tune and delete pipe. I'm sure 1600 with delete will melt motor. Lol...
It feels like burnt rubber from the old belt.
Thanks the info, help. I let it run for about a hour and drove it 5 miles. Seems I be working just fine.
All the other pulleys felt great luckily.
Thanks again for the info guys.
Yep, it locked up. It smocked the belt.
I know a few of the other pulleys look burnt, so I'm hoping they are still good.
Will get pictures in the am and post to see what you'll think.
The fan pulley looked the worst to me. Still spins smooth.
I got my tools and trailer 6 miles away, 15min drive.
Do you'll think it would hurt anything to drive it that fare, I know my batteries will last, and that my brakes will be hard to push.
I have a oil temp gauge, and edge insight to watch all my temps since the fan isn't working.
Thanks.
Got a 08 Chevy that I lost the belt and pully, got the parts but don't have tools at the motel, I'm I'm east Rutherford New Jersey, extended stay motel. Close to the gaints stadium.
Anyone close that can help, please call 970-744-0781.
Willing to pay for your time and help.
Anthony.
Someone told me that I can gross over my GCWR rating that the my truck has, but I can Register it at 40k if I want. Which is way over the factory GCWR.
Does anyone know the DOT laws.
I know Chevy, Ford and Dodge have there GCWR, but that limits us form pulling about everything. Dose the DOT go off GCWR or just go off of axle, hitch and license rating?
Thanks guys.
Local I'm not that worried, it's driven over the road that worries me. I've never been stopped and had then look to make sure, that's been 6 years and over 180k miles. With them busting H&S, edge has me thinking its a bad idea.
Has anyone heard of the fines, or has anyone every been stopped to see if you have your DPF. I have a 08 dually that I use to travel all over the US. I don't run DOT numbers or have to stop at scales. Had the truck since new and haven been stopped yet, but not sure if its safe to delete, would...
