What shocks did you run? The TC shocks? I scrapped them pretty quickly and went to Bilstein 5100's. That helped. This Spring, when I put my home built traction bars on, that helped the "frame beaming" over expansion joints alot. Kind of transfers some of the energy away from the rear springs...
Looks great. Do you have the 4" block in the rear? I'd be looking into some traction bars before I got too serious about pulling, just my .02.
I really like my TC lift, I'm sure you'll like yours.
My buddy swapped over his fuel/turbo over to the new block on Saturday, so he's back in business and can be towing cars again. I personally put in about 800 miles on Thursday between traveling for work all day, and then driving from Central PA to Michigan. Then 450 miles back to my buddy's shop...
I found a medium duty longblock, so I'm headed out Thursday night, I'll pick it up Friday morning from Tony Burkhard, so I'll be headed through Michigan, Ohio, and back to PA.
If anyone's on the road Friday, keep an eye out for me. :D
Thanks guys. I'm not a mechanic, but I doubted the head gasket as being the issue all along, at least not the main issue.
He's pretty much accepted the fact he needs a motor. We're looking right now, have a line on one, but shipping and transferring funds are going to take a few days and I think...
Ok, it's been hammered on since it was new. Everything he owns is. It's a crewcab with a 19' rollback on it, it's heavy (about 13000lbs) and it's been rode hard and put away wet. Never "abused", but used, hard.
My biggest concern (personally) was that he put the pyro probe about 2-3'...
So, if he is down on compression, is it possible the block is warped? Or is the other possibility a cracked piston or something to that effect?
Speculation won't scare or offend me.
