Well I pushed it till she popped. Number 6 piston cracked right through the middle. Got it all apart almost down to the short block. Here are some picks of the pull and damage. It didn't score the wall bad at all. Can barely even feel it so probably just a light hone. The build will be Carrillo rods, finger piston low compression, arp hardware (have head studs already so will get main studs), clevite bearings, key cam and crank also balance, weld my water pump, new oil cooler and oil pump heard its recommend for when it lets go (guess if a piece of metal gets in there?) and that will be it for the bottom end. Heads will be stock maybe some springs but not sure yet. Sorry to hear about your luck, sounds like you have a solid rebuild plan in place so congratulations I guess?

Yea sorry to see it apart. Guess that means we won't see you in 3 weeks at Little River. But look on the bright side.....now you will have a built motor Dmax! Breaks are just an excuse to upgrade in my opinion.

How is filling a block bad?

It seems it may be a situation where maybe it is causing stresses from thermal differences between the filled and unfilled area in the cylinder. Or maybe its something to do with how the block moves or deforms under load. My last one cracked a cylinder about an inch or so into the filled area then a little above it as well. I know I'm not the only one who has had it happen. Of course this is anecdotal information, not science.

Anyone running Danville performance motor mounts? They use the same material as M/A's?

Look to be the same thing, just painted diff color with DP logo. MA wholesales those mounts to a lot of different retailers now.

My blocks half filled and I haven't had a problem in 40,000 miles but I'm only around 800hp.
