S366 Turbo Question

I am currently running an S366 and was wondering what the HP limits are on them? I am in the middle of trying to decide weather I sell it and upgrade to an S472 with an 2.6 cover for it or keep the S366 for now and upgrade at a later date.

Next winter I am looking at building the motor. I know if I keep the S366 that will be my limiting factor. However I am fine with that for another year or two after the motor build since around here our pulling class is 2.5 work stock.

Any input would be great. :thumb:

My 366 did 580hp with a stock cp3,s471 did 617hp with stock cp3,and 672hp with a 85% II PUMP.All with 40% over sticks at the same dyno,The 66 was a htt 66/71/16ss, The 471 is a 71/74 .9ar off the shelf unit.

Beans made 999.6 hp on one..... Depends how hard you want to push it, definitely 700+. Is it wastegated?

Mine is a none wastegated turbo. I am not afraid to push it because if it goes then I upgrade anyways!

Mine is a 66/73/.91ar. I have 60% nozzles, and a 120% CP3 and made 678 on Floor It Diesels dyno for what its worth.

I was hoping for around 800hp. I could also add a billet wheel when i build the motor to help as well.

You won't regret getting the s472 :D
I'm running the .9 ar currently and it spools suprisingly good and rips in the top end.
I'm still stock cp3 and injectors but the reason I bought an s472 over the 366 to begin with was so I had something I could run on a built motor. I can't imagine what this thing is gonna do when Im able to get some fuel and torque into my tunes.

We rate our Billet S366 @ 750hp which is pretty close to the same turbo , I know it will do a little over 800 but running it that hard it wont last long and at that point your right at the peak if not past its MAP , and will take ALOT of fuel to achieve those numbers . IMOP if your after over 750 bump up a frame .

The only thing I am not excited about is having to have a 2.6 cover made for a S472. That will be an added cost of I don't know how much. If you could give me some prices that would be great.

How is the lag on the bottom end of it? Wonder how my stock 300,000 miles rods like it lol.

depends, how hard was it ran for the first 300,00 miles? I wouldnt risk it with a 472 imo... but it would be fun for a while.

366 is a nice unit also! As long as you dont throw a bunch of fuel at it you should be able to get a few more fun miles out of your ride with a new charger.

The 366 takes more fuel the most run with it to make the power. Haven't had any problems with mine at 65 k and it gets pushes pretty hard. Its also great for compounding off of too. Some have made I. The 800's with it and over 1k with compounds.

if i punch it from a dead stop it spools about the same as a stock turbo...and i have a lot of fuel pulled out of the low end to take some torque out and help my rods. your rods might not like it. I would discuss that with your tuner tho.

It was bone stock nothing touched on it when I bought it with 275,000 miles on it. sens I bought it and did my upgrades its been on the dyno once, down the track twice. and sled pulled once. most of the time I drive around in my small tune. and its only been street raced a few times. I need to get the trans built before I jump on a turbo. The trans hates me right now lol.
