Just curious what a stock duramax LLY can take. I've heard so many different amounts, HP, Boost, spray, everything, just wondering how far I can go on stock bottom end, with APR main and head studs before....FAIL!!!

550rwhp is about all Id push it to. Good tuning is critical. Try to tune tq peak as high as you can. Been there, done that, got the bent rods to prove it.

depends on tuning. more than likely you will bend a rod before you burn up a piston or break the crank. once you get around the 650hp area your stock rods will be living on a prayer

Awesome, what about boost levels? I do have studs I just don't wanna go too far, I'm going to install my Industrial Injection Silver Bullet tomorrow, just didn't wanna pop something from unsafe levels, I have my own V2 so I've got a tune for the turbo and current mods, idk how much boost it'll make for certain yet.

I'm tuning it, I have several tunes for different sit-ups, I've already spent hours modifying the tunes for what I'd like to put down. I understand some who knows what they are doing would be better but this is trial and error for me.

Haha yeah I know, I have 2 LML long blocks but haven't had the time or money to really play with them, also have an LLY short block, and 2 LBZ long blocks but I just gotta build, been kinda lazy I suppose

:D yeah just gotta find time to work on my own stuff haha, always busy with other people. I think by June ill have one of my LBZ blocks built, which is very close :) then it's swap time and then transplant for my LLY into a 64 chevy shortbed

I bet you can't break it without an lbz pump.
Watch timing you can do allot of harm there.

Timing... Really? I've run as much as 38* at 3600 rpm. My engines still running well. You should stop regurgitating what you have read on the internet.

OP if you're tuning it you are going to want to tune out as much torque as possible. In my experience a detorqued tune and sensible street driving is feel comfortable pushing it to 650hp but anymore than that is going to be a gamble
