LML Cp4 replacement before failure

So I programmed a truck this weekend for a good friends dad. We got to talking about cp4 failures and what all they entail after.

I did a quick google search and really didn't find what I was looking for.

Basically want to do replace the cp4 before it takes a crap and takes out the injectors since the truck has 125k on it and as far as we know it's never been touched.

We don't really want to have to do a cp3 conversion on it unless we just have to. Truck is tuned and deleted just to get rid of dpf/ def issues.

Are the replacement cp4s still problematic? Or have they pretty much fixed the failure point in them? If not, does anyone make a replacement cp4 that solves the issues? Say exergy or whoever?

Thanks. Sorry if it's been covered before.

They haven't fixed it yet. I do more 11s and 12s but have seen more than 1 13+ with a bad pump. If I ever got an lml for sure without a doubt I'd cp3 swap it.

FYI- I think that the kits that are available require removing the egr but no 100% sure on that.

Thanks guys, I'll pass on info and do some research. We don't mind to delete the egr while we are there if need be. Although I'm sure kits are cheaper if you can leave it. This thing is just a stock truck he wants to last him a while.

Also, if the kits don't come with a pump we just need a lbz/ Lmm cp3 correct?

Yep lbz/lmm pump. Cost has nothing to do with what I said about available kits, I don't the cp3 pump fits with the egr in place.

In my opinion it's cheaper to fix a failed pump them to swap in a cp3.. Cp3 retro kits are unreal costs especially to a guy that has a stock truck

I was thinking so. I'm sure Tony can handle it.

Looks like we are on the search for a kit

Fleece. Comes with a cp3k and I think it's less than 2k

Not sure where you got your figures pal
Tuning =1k
Egr delete = 800.00
Cp3 = 800.00
Conversion kit= 800.00
Exhaust= 400.00

Cp4 =550.00
Lml injectors = 2000.00
Pressure reg = 250.00
Where are you people getting 6k for parts to fix a failure?
