2nd gear launches

I think I tried it on my stock tranny 
I dont remember. Launch around 2800 if you can get it that high.

Is this a feasible option if you have a built tranny? Cause 1st gear is so short its nearly worthless!
wonderin that too, clutches, converter? If it is a viable option and we plan to use it for racing a bit, this might need to affect our choice in torque converter spec. huh?
Building RPM at the line builds heat and heat is the killer of torque converters. Just my .0000000000000000002.
I'm just going off what I've been told by someone else who has tried it. He usually cuts mid 1.6s launching in 1st, and in 2nd it was in the 1.7s.I would have to disagree on tht one
I think the problem is we in Socal don't know what good track prep is
From now on I will only launch Wendy in 2nd gear. Am I hurting anything by doing so I have no idea yet. I have probably 10-15 passes so far. So far everything is good

I might have to try it on a same day, same track, same tune, same truck, comparison test. Maybe this weekend. I've been wanting to try it but been working on trying to get the truck dialed in. I didn't feel like throwing in a whole new variable.
I hope you do try this Josh and let us know if it improved anything or not. I've been wary of the 2nd gear start because I'm on 35" tires and stock clutches. My belief is that with the much larger tires, that it stretches out 1st enough to make it actually useful.
