Ugh Im not arguing "for it".
Im just saying, everyone needs to relax...theres ALWAYS ways around things. Look how many YEARS internet piracy/illegal downloading has been around, how long it took to actually PASS laws about it (from when it first became a thing). And then, after laws were passed, look how long it took for it to be enforced. And then after it started to be enforced, how many of "the little guys" actually got in trouble for it and were prosecuted? 5? 10? When is the last time you heard a "little Tara Teenager was busted and sacked with $10,000 fine for illegally downloading the latest taylor swift song!!!!" headline? Ok maybe once. But how many times a day are movies/songs illegally downloaded...its in the millions!
What you are going to see is the BIGGEST companies (read: offenders of the law that are stupid and obvious about their tactics...IE, H&S) get hand-slapped by the gov't, they will pay a fine, and go about their way.
Even if these "laws" do get passed, to think that regular Jim Bob down the street is going to get his door busted down and sentenced to death because he modified his truck is ludicrous.
Some people just dont know how to take off the tin foil hat that is superglued to their own thick head. Conspiracy theorists/skeptics of the world unite! If someone doesnt like all this doom and gloom, then they should stop whining and move to Europe. I hear the car modifying laws over there are way less strict than in the US (lol). Even some provinces in Canada have way stricter lift laws than 95% of states in the US. Im done arguing in this thread because its not going anywhere...
So, can we agree that this law is a little bit redundant, unnecessary, and well just a pointless regulation? GM, Deere, Cat, whoever, they already have more than enough tech in place to detect tampering? Right??? So what is the real reason here.... Humm. Hint: it's not for the good of the people. And really you know I'm no conspiracy theorist nut case lol, just very concerned with govt over reach!
To spin this just a little (point is still the same) NOAA gave Alabama a 9 day federal red snapper season last year, with a 2 per person per day catch limit.... Now wouldn't any logical reasoning person say, "Hey wait a second, if fish stocks are this low, that we only get a nine day season, why even give us a season at all???" Btw, there were only 3 fishable days out of the nine. 6-8 foot seas suck. Now this past season, we only caught Red snapper... Not one other reef fish was caught.... The reason for that you ask, we are so over populated with RS that they a eating out all the other reef fish. So it's not about protecting the fish... It's about control AND lining certain people's pockets with cash.
I know I know off topic but still applies. And you're right, this will probably have net zero impact on our sport, but it's just a waste of time and money! We have much more important issues as a country to deal with right now. I'm just sick of the Mickey Mouse bullshit our current and past administrations have levied on us.
