hit a culvert going about 40mph, think its totaled ? i really hope it is, but i am thinking it may not be. i just dont want a pieced together truck that i just bought in december. supposed to find out tommarrow. It ripped driveshaft out and trans fluid was all over street. plus damage that can be seen, thanks guys

Guy at work rolled a ford and since it was a diesel, they put it back together. From what I heard, his was much worse.

I would say its not going to be totaled from experience in the field

If the total cost to fix the vehicle is over 75% of the insured value of the vehicle...then its totaled.

From what I have seen with Diesels if the engine and drive train is good they fix the truck.

I have seen them swap bodes/frames

thanks guys, yeh i fell asleep and went off rt side of road hit a culvert going about 40mph. I hope it is totaled, i just talked to body shop and he said he was still going through it and it was pretty rough, so we'll see.

My wife recently wrecked mine and it cracked the frame on it. Allstate adjuster told me that it was a 80 percent number they used when totaling vehicles. I didn't want it to be totaled anyway. I doubt your truck will be totaled either.

Every insurance company uses a different percentage, they can choose if they will repair it or not.

The body damage isn't enough to total it. Its going to come down to how bad the frame/ drivetrain is. My bet is it won't be totaled.

body shop just called and he said he is still going through it but he said he is approaching breaking point of totaled or not he thinks, says he will know tommarrow for sure

i believe the rear end shifted not for sure though, but this happened in the dark and i left for work in morning in dark so i didnt see it in person before it was towed to shop
