I am loving mine! So far I have no reason to believe the forged are actually stronger. We have seen other's break them in half. It's all in how you make your Hp. Right now I have 150% confidence in the Race-cast oval bowls and until we actually fail one I am going to continue down this path because the performance gain from them is awesome.

Not to nit pick but .... there is a lot of info out explaining why forged is and always will be stronger. You saying that you don't think it's needed is a personal preference and opinion.
That being said not all forged are the same, and iirc Mahle 4032 alloy does have a higher silicone value than say a Arias 2618 alloy atleast that is my understanding?
I'm glad your build has worked so far and hope it continues to hold up- it sounds great!
Hmm,Just a question but doesn't Mahle also make both 4032 and 2618 pistons ? I know the 2618 is a stronger piston but you also have to give up the tighter clearances which results in noisy piston slap at cold starts. Not sure the two are available in the Duramax line of pistons though, anyone know?
I don't have any piston slap noise on my arias pistons either
Simon all engines running Arias pistons have piston slap.... Or so they say

there are going to be new top ring alternatives very shortly for forged pistons....
