I dont feel I'll use it a lot on the street as I'll still have blackout that will run easy 11s but what's a safe number of miles with forged? 5-10k a year? Cuz I don't even do that daily driving lol. I may drive 150 miles a week tops lol

Dustin I think you'll be more then fine running forged, and it won't be worth the chance of cracking a piston. On the other hand if you run monotherms it'll solve all of your problems:)

Rob can't point you in the right direction? Think with you resources, it wouldn't even be a question

He is saying forged for sure as is cam but i like to make my own decisions regardless of my resources. Just the kinda person I am. I like to ask a lot of people their opinions and then make a decision. I've already talked with guy, rob, and cam but still wanna ask. Know what I mean bud. It's a big decision IMO as I'm still only 22

You have 2 fast trucks, how often will a 11 second truck not be enough to play on the street? Are you filling the block? If yes then you have your answer

Not filling the block.

Think I'm gonna just do the forged. I plan on opening it up every other season as long as nothing comes apart so forged should last.

That's what I would do, not like me and plan to dd and tow with it then be up near that power level at the track

I don't think the crank is the issue, other than manufacturing defects it either having the mains tight and not having room to flex, oil temps way high and the oil not doing its job, or harmonics, I think it is the last but I have nothing to base that on

I have Jon's cast pistons in my engine, and love them. I would have gone forged but Jon did not offer them at that time. My truck made over 1100Hp. I have about 10 1/4 mile passes on it and 1000-1500 miles of street driving at about 700hp.

I would say to go with Jon's forged pistons. With what you have told us you will be happy with them.
