TX of course
Had a little oops the the other day. This is the second time this truck has bust the rams that lift the bed. One ram took out a tire this time. Apparently Bell trucks are junk.

Lost one of my customers to cancer today. 49 years old. She left behind a husband and 8 kids. Just a wonderful lady, and never let on that she was sick.

This really sucks. These people are like my extended family.

Cancer sucks. Lost a good friend's dad last month to cancer. It was so sudden, whole process was barely more than a month from him being fine to gone. He was a great guy, helped us build a rollcage for a minivan (destruction derby kind of thing) not that long ago.

Peak season is here! :roflmao: ....and that was the understatement of the year! :roflmao:

First day out, we were buried. I went out with 156 stops, 367 packages. Thats usually peak day, a week before Xmas.

Tomorrow is expected to be the heaviest volume day UPS has ever had, and Wednesday is supposed to be second. Ho-lee shit. :hehe:

BTW, the P-W boys won the Division 7 football state title on Saturday. :thumb: 3rd title in four years! Im a very proud "uncle" right now.

Yup, highest volume day in our center's history, if not the company's. So thank you to all of you who bought stuff on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. "Pension Security" is a wonderful thing. :hehe:
We processed over 60,000 pkgs thru our building today, with 3 trailers still out in the yard not processed due to time.
I finished with 193 stops, 395 pkgs delivered. Not too shabby.

As for the comments on times, remember that as volume goes up, routes shrink. So the new route may have you as a morning stop now, or your area turns into the end-of-day for your regular guy.

Mgr sent a message out at 6pm saying we are working on Saturday. I already have family plans, so I probably wont be there. Just means a full truck on Monday. Meh.

Anything is possible. IIRC, there was the GTG at Russ's (rcannon) house up that way about 10 years ago.

Did 183/336 today. I shouldn't be able to do this much work or move this quickly at my age. Experience wins out again, I guess.

To put these numbers Ive been posting into perspective, I'm only delivering about half my normal area during peak season. We have 6 drivers in our "loop" while normally we have 3.

The rest of the year, I'll go out with 115-130 stops on a normal 9.25 day. I'll usually deliver between 160-200 pkgs.

The odd thing is my miles are still within 10 or so of what I do the rest of the year (130s-140s right now, 140s-150s rest of year), though.

So Im doing 50% more stops and packages in 1/2 the area. This is the heaviest volume its ever been, thats for sure.
