I know the turbo has to have good flow through the exhaust side, but between the Danville 72 and Trent's 371 who has the most?

i would think that the Danville would flow a little better only due to it being a VGT. but dont quote me on that

AFAIK VGT's do not out flow fixed geometry turbos when they are the same size... I'm sure mark has so pretty trick stuff on these things so that info Mau not apply here

Just curious cause I want the engine to live for a while and I hear that excessive back pressure tears these motors up.

With the power that this thread is talking about back pressures is the least if your worries. Get you a good combination and don't be extreme with your choices.

pistons, crank, ring wear.... pick anything that can fail when you are pushing the stock components to 5x their designed operating power levels

Are you saying there are gonna be many problems running this much power? Thx.

When we first built the first two engines for Max'd Out we were told that if we got 20 minutes at WOT we would be doing good. Neither of those engines lasted that long and they were in the HP range you are talking about. :(

I believe Maxxed Out arguably makes more passes without failure than any other truck out there racing regularly. Big power cones with big demands.

I'm doing a build this winter.. I already have 60% injectors, lbz cp3, and a fleece built 2.5 charger (s363 I think that's the right size) I'm adding dual cp3 and a compound charger setup.. Thinking s483.. Is this charger too big to compound with my 2.5? Do I needa make the 2.5 a 2.6 like iv been told before.. Wanting 800 hp fuel.. Thoughts and suggestions please.

Guys break these engines at 750hp if someone is telling you you're going to have to build it once at 1000hp they are giving you false hopes. Sure some last substantially longer than others but these arent LS motors in a 2wd 3500 lb car. If I wanted 1000hp I would run forged pistons, and a great valve train and run high rpm and stay the f**k away from peak torque

I'd go bigger like 366
