Looking good man! The high back clamp with the band is a good idea for fitting pieces together, I have something similar with two pieces of tubing welded to the clamp but I like his idea better. I'll have to copy that! Are you leaving the stainless bare? Itd be a shame to cover up all them purdy welds.
What about a clear powder coat? That way you can have some protection and still have e the beauty of the welds and material. Or whitelol I don’t know I’m thinking about getting them powder coated… I really would like to get them done in some off the wall color but I have no idea what else to do other then white.
Being stainless, how much extra protection is it going to need? What about a clear powder coat? That way you can have some protection and still have e the beauty of the welds and material. Or white
It must be that super military grade type. Good for 1,000 psi I heard.Ok, nobody else said it, so I will.
The scotch tape probably wont hold up very long.
Thanks! They looks like a stainless exhaust band clamp, but the cutouts are key for tacking in position. Love it. Since you've already got the y bridge white, bare stainless wouldn't look right. Maybe go with the engine color? That would give it some offset but still match and not look out of place. I'm taking the next two weeks off work, Disney next week with the kids, then its go time on my truck. Hoping to have the whole kit together. Your trucks looking great and giving me the motivation I need to start mine again! Awesome job man.I asked my buddy about the clamp he said he bought it from here.. https://sscustoms.com.au/
You'll have Vanjen at every connection now right? I remember you added them to the intercooler before. That thing will be rock solid man. So much easier to install too. The pie cut looks killer as well. I like how your buddy set the piping up, looks smooth. That's a hard bend to make there. Can't wait to see this thing in action. What are your guesses on Hp/times? 1200 plus and low 10's?
That's 4" running from big to small turbo? Damn, that'll move some air for sure. I went with 3.5" due to fitment issues, but my y bridge is setup a bit different than yours. I like the way yours fits. Gives a lot more room there. There will be one v band clamp at the big turbo just because the powder coat is still new on it. But if I do run 1/4 mile ever again I’m really hoping to break in to the 9s. I was pretty surprised he was able to fit the 3 1/5 to 4 inch reducer along with the clamp assembly on the front of the small turbo… I for sure thought we were going to have to come up with a different plan.
Oh ok, that makes sense. Was that to adapt the v band flange to the turbo cover? No one makes a stainless steel flange for the Garrett 4094 that I could find that also included an o ring. I had to make one on my lathe. In hindsight, welding an aluminum Vanjen flange on the turbo cover would of worked too. The pie cuts there help with that super tight radius as well. Even with a 1D 90 bend, it's too long and hits my y bridge. That's why the turbo horns have that flat on them. Pie cuts make it easier there for sure. Decide on a color yet?No it’s 3.5 there is a 3.5 to 4 fitting on the front of the little turbo connected to the vibrant clamp if you zoom in you can see it
