... 3 nights ago had a dream i craked 2 pistons
...
yea heres the log if you wana see or any one else
oh well i guess you cant atach log files
Dude, at your age you should not be dreaming of cracks in pistons...
Looks like it let go on the 4-5 shift.. hyschic:
I'm not sold on a cracked piston yet. I wonder if it's not the turbo... bad seal? locked up compressor?
Nick
a cracked piston wouldn't show a balance rate of 4 -5 ....
Don't run it anymore than you have to. If a piston just cracked, the block is often AOK. If you drive on it, you buy a new block.
When running VNT turbos, the RPM sensor in the turbo will sometimes fail causing similiar symptoms. Call Steve at TTSPowerSystems and ask him for a new sensor so you can eliminate that possibility.
lol hmm well im going to his house for a bbq this weekend to tear my motor down so ill ask him
yea just ran it to get in the trailer 4low crawled on at idle and to check the rates last night
Harbor Freight has a cheap diesel comp tester that includes the right tip IIRC. It works better than my expensive one.
Pull all 8 glow plugs, put a battery charger on, disconnect glow plug module, then crank 5 revs and record. A cracked piston is going to show very little. All cyls should be within 50 lbs of each other before you panic.
Say hello to his missus for me. She has the best fried chicken!
Tell him to give you the McRat Special price on the turbo sensor.
