The bowl is still in the center of the piston. Only the rod offset will be different. Like Guy said its a old hot rodder trick. I don't think he will have any problems but it will be harder on the piston skirts in them cylinders. Just glad he got it running. Its hard to just let them site and not run. Jeff

I guess that is what I was trying to say, the rod angle being differant. Thank you

While it may be hard to sit and look at something that you are so devoted to not get anywhere, spending $3,000 on rods and another $1,500 or more on pistons would be a damn good reason to take your time and do it right.

This is not a slam on anyone, I just wish you the best Adam I don't want to be reading in 3 months that you cracked a piston or something. Good luck buddy :joker:

I think it will be fine . Obviously it is running with no apparent issues .

I do agree there is a reason for the arrows being correct .

If you were going to do this you would make them all point backwards really .

To at least make it unbalanced correctly .

You could probably use old rings and bearings , but I wouldnt suggest that either . I myself am running 7 old pistons . Yes I worry about them 7 being previously cooked .

I know Adam was in a hurry to get it on the road and I do understand that . He would have lost a few days pulling heads and getting gaskets and pretty much pulling it down all the way to start swapping pistons around in thier bores . If it was something like cam timing he would have had no choice .

He made the choice to run it and risk it . It lives !!

Is it as smooth running as it could be .... Who knows . Time will tell I guess .

I wish him the best ,thats for sure .

For all we know he just found 10 ft pnds of torque .

i am flat towing my 75 K25

i tripped the state weigh station plate (ca/AZ line) so i got weighed.. 16,200lb GCW with only 2 set of brakes  grade brakeing is a god send right now  striaght lien stopping is adequeat... corners almost instant jack knife on mod to heavy braking

use 1.5-2qt of oil between moorpark and gallup NM topped off agian hasnt used any since. i have roughly 1900 miles onthe motor thus far.. mpg is 12 (moorpark to bartow) 11(barstow to gallup NM) 13 (gallup to amarillo) running 70-75 the whole time next fillup will be somewere near tera huete

tune is the same as when it died on me. minus pulled timeing from running @ altiutde had little timeing knock. @ low throttle. other then that nothing change in tuneing... EGT guage doesnt work so dont know about that.. quick check power, visible check were good... didnt have the time to diagnose farther so i said **** it..

down shifted 3 times to maintian speed. both were 9-10% grades on in kingman the other in flag staff on the I40 and once in the rolling hills in eastern NM
and johny normally i would double check my work or just prove some one right ot wrong... if i had the time... but i ran out of time :( worse thing right now is i got a rocker arm tick on #2 that will get re adjusted when i get to ohio. and possible the once used stock head bolts

motor def has more power the is for sure... :D
some reason cant get into my TCM with my V2.. but that is nother problem to deal will later... shift point could be better. mainly TCC engagement... i will post pick of the setup later
