Also I've learned that squatting and deadlifting while awesome for the large muscle groups don't REALLY target those deep muscles near your spine. Some guys genetically are predisposed to having weak spinal erector muscles like me. I can hold a plank for 3-4 minutes but an L sit hold? Get the f**k out. When my SS coach told me that all I needed to do to fix my back was squat heavy I thought "f**k that)

Bummer he must have taken it down... It was fairly harsh but spoke a lot of truth:thumb: The short version is he wasn't very impressed with Sports Illustrated using a large boned girl on the cover... He felt it was a excuse for people to just be fat and happy but in the end have health issues. That's the nice version:rofl:

Like totally gassed or cracked out energy...I get a little of both depending on how many hours I work in the week. Previous week was 73hrs and working out this week was 45ish and working out. Last week I was beat this week I'm feel like a crack head

Anyone experience a huge hit in energy levels from over training?

I used to never take breaks from the gym, no rest days.

I recently started taking 1-2 days off a week from lifting and it has made a big difference. My workouts are more intense, stronger feeling and better pumps. i dont feel worn out at all.

There is nothing wrong with over training.....to a certain extent. The body does need time to recover though, so rest days are required.

What's over training?

I think you can fry your CNS which makes you feel run down but if your workouts are setup properly I don't feel you need to take set time off... That being said you really need to manage the intensity and timing of those workouts in order to train 7 days a week.

My current programming is 7 days a week but I only have 4 intense/heavy days with 3 accessory days. The Acc. days are supposed to be somewhat active recovery but I seem to always overdue it:D which hurts my performance on the intense/heavy days... I will take a day off here and there depending on how rough and beat up the gym and work has me. Plus I'm old, so I recover a bit slower than the youngsters.

Over training, being a bone head and doing a routine for geared lifters.

Just not sure if its the sudden volume change, I was used to 5x5 steady linear programming or just a intense training routine that I need to stop being a bitch about. :roflmao:

I am a zombie lately, workouts are fine but anything outside of gym is sluggish. One week to go.

Thats the truth, but, gonna take the weekend off, then finish up the last week of base micro cycle. Hoping for the new 1rm number to be 475 for the intense cycle, used 455 1rm for the base.

Just want that 505 squat, not that much to ask for :)

Holy bejebus I just want a 200 bench, 200 squat and 200 dead. I feel the bench and squat will be easily attainable but the dead could be the hard one, especially with my back
